I was running, from what I had neither the courage nor time to turn and see. All I knew was I had to keep running. I could hear my heart beating almost as loud as the noise my feet made as they pounded against the leaf covered ground, it- whatever it was- was going to catch me if I didn't run faster. I hear someone at my side let out a loud laugh, "This is fun, isn't it Oni-San?!"

"Ha-ha these guys are so slow! it must even be fun for you!" Another voice came clearly from the other side, they were extremely familiar, yet I couldn't turn to look in fear of whatever was chasing us catching up.

Hey, did you know?

"Fun... are you... guys kidding me?!" I yell at them, the words coming from my mouth as if I really did know who the two were. I had no more time to dwell on this however as the thing chasing us was closing in.

Games always have rules.

"Huh?!" I ask, I could have sworn that I just heard something about a game. The momentary lapse of concentration causes the tip of my shoe to become caught on a tree branch, pitching me forward and onto the ground.

It's decided from the beginning...

I struggle to my feet once more, trying not to focus on the voice seeming to come from thin air. I've already lost too much ground, and the thing chasing was definitely going to catch up now… I have to make a decision now. I take a deep breath and close my eyes tightly.

You knew that, right?

I turn to face the pursuer, cautiously opening my eyes once more, but to my astonishment, there was nothing, just the forest starting to dissolve entirely.

"You know I can't help, not supposed to interfere remember?" The man in the shadows grinned towards the rather depressed looking rabbit-eared authority figure. He would have just put the other out of his misery and told him he already intended to help… if it wasn't way too much fun to mess with the guy.

The snowy haired man's features grew even more downcast, his equally white ears dropping down as he uttered the one word the other never thought he'd hear escape the rabbit's mouth, "... Please."

The shadowed figure's grin slowly fell, but quickly returned along with a slight snicker, "Well, well, it seems that you truly have found someone you care for more than yourself. Alright, I'll lend a hand." he lifted his hand, creating a portal for the other, "There, now they are connected."

the rabbit eared mail practically barged through the portal, much to the shadowed figure amusement. "well [Name], are you ready~?"

Let the games begin
