A/N: Fluffy AU oneshot in which Dean is a mechanic and Cas is a police officer (not that it matters much, but still) and they are married and have two kids; 8 year old Mary and 6 year old Charlie.

Dean awoke to the smell of bacon, which is always a good thing to wake up to. He glanced over at the digital clock beside his bed and saw that it read 7:09. Wow. Twenty minutes before his alarm was scheduled to go off. Dean smiled to himself. Today was starting off great.

After his early morning preparations for the upcoming day (which went four minutes faster than usual) he sauntered into the kitchen, pulling on a t-shirt as he walked. Cas stood with his back to Dean, flipping pieces of sizzling bacon.

Dean crept up behind his husband and wrapped his arms around him in a hug. Castiel didn't seem the least bit surprised. Dean, though slightly annoyed by his failed sneak-hug, kissed the side of Castiel's neck.

"Hey, baby." Dean whispered against his skin. "Good morning."

He couldn't see it, but he could tell Cas was smiling. "Good morning to you, too. How'd you sleep?"

"Great, thanks to all the… activities we did last night."

Dean raised his head in time to catch the blush on Castiel's cheeks.

He was about to say something else, maybe comment on how good Cas looked in an apron, but a small voice interrupted.

"Daddy? We're going to be late for the bus."

"Alright, Mary. Just a sec." Dean turned back to his husband. "Look at her. Third grade and already so responsible. Somehow, I don't think Charlie's going to turn out the same way."

They both looked towards the little first grader, who had managed to untie both his shoes and dumped almost all of his eggs on the floor and in his lap.

"You know," Castiel subtly reminded him, "If we had a dog, that mess would be cleaned up by now."

Dean smiled at the man beside him. "The answer's still no."

"I'm going to have to get Mary to use her puppy dog eyes as a weapon if you keep resisting."

"Ooh, that's low."

"Desperate times."

The eight year old made her presence known again. "Papa!"

Castiel reassured her that yes, they were leaving in less than five minutes, and no, they would not be late. Dean smiled and busied himself with getting new pants for Charlie and retying his shoelaces. "You gotta keep 'em like that, okay buddy?" Charlie nodded his head in response, then took off towards the front door. Castiel was already there, handing Mary her purple backpack (pink was too girly) and opening the door.

"You still have your apron on." Dean informed him, gesturing to the "Kiss the Cook" apron Dean had gotten him last Christmas (he was more than happy to follow the instructions at every possible chance). Castiel nodded.

"I know. You'll be alright walking them to the bus stop yourself? I need to set up some things for a certain… activity that we'll be doing when you get back. It involves whipped cream and those handcuffs I borrowed from the station."

Yep. Dean's morning may have started off great, but it was about to get so much better.

A/N: I know Charlie's name might seem a little random, but I named Mary after Dean's mom and Charlie after Cas' dad, Chuck (because I still maintain the firm belief that Chuck is God). I don't know if Charles is Chuck Shurley's real first name, and Chuck is a nickname (because Chuck can be a nickname for Charles), but let's just say it is because it makes sense for this story.
