Chapter 1: Baby Robot of Doom

~~~~Tranquility, Nevada - Woods~~~~
"John, you promised we wouldn't get lost again," a woman sighed, her dirty blonde hair pulled up into a loose bun as she glared at her husband. Her usual light green eyes darkened a shade as he only gave her a crooked smile in response, quirking a dimple as he replied back.
"Don't worry, Didi," he drawled lazily, gesturing to the map in his hand, "we'll make it back to the car in no time."
"Oh, Jojo," she coo'd sweetly, placing a hand on his shoulder. An overly sweet smile curled on her thin lips as she batted her lashes at him.
"Yessssssss?," he dragged the 's', just as sweet. His brown eyes trailed from the map and to her again, and he flinched as he realized the look on her face.
"THE MAP'S UPSIDE DOWN!" she screeched while smacking his bicep.
****Elsewhere - Near the River****
A man with jet black hair and dark red eyes scanned the surrounding woods as he stood before an empty space pod, black smoke fuming from the short-circuiting wires.
"That fragging sparkling," he angrily growled, his scratchy voice raising an octive before something bright caught his eye. A small scrap of blue metal was hidden under a log, the jagged edge barely peeking out as the sun caught it.
He snarled at the small fragment and cursed in Cybertronian as he flickered out. Replacing the man was a large robotic being with grey, sharp platings and large wings.
Lord Megatron would not be please, he begrudged.
~~~~Back with the Couple~~~~

As John rubbed the red handprint on his arm, he sent quick glances at his wife who decided to guide them back to the car.

"I'm sorry," he sheepishly started, grinning at her.

She indiginantly huffed and ingored him as she made an abrupt right turn. She continued to frown as she intently stared at the map.

CLANG!

She paused as her foot made contract with a hard object. "What on ea-John!" she yelped as he pulled her back, his arms secured tightly around her waist.

"Shhhhhhhh," he motioned for her to be quiet as his eyes stayed glued to whatever was in front of them.

Closing her mouth, she turned toward the object as well and froze at the lump of blue metal that twitched ever so often.

"What is that!?" she hissed under her breath to him, clutching the map in her hands tightly.

For a moment, they remained there in silence. John slowly loosened the grip on his wife and inched closer to the the metal ball. Crouching down to his knees, he poked the surface of it with a stern look.

"It's definitely a bomb!" he loudly announced, earning a slap on the head from Diana.

"Honey!" he whined childishly, standing back up. He lightly glared at her as he rubbed another bruise, ruffling his short brown hair in the process.

She glared back unimpressed and crossed her arms over her chest. "It is NOT a bomb," she argued. "It's some kind of robot thing!"

"Bomb!"

"Robot!"

"Bomb!"

"Robo-*chirp*" Diana paused mid-word, shooting her husband a wierd look.

He gazed back with an offended expression. "I didn't fart, just so you know," he said, crossing his arms. He could feel the unnerving stare of his wife, and sweat began to drip down his temple as he began to twitch his lip.

"Ok, so maybe I DID fart. But it was silent," he admitted begrudgingly, snorting at the disgust that crossed her face.

"Ew! John!" she sniffed. "That wasn't why I was looking at you! I was trying to tell you to look down!"

"Oh," he gulped, blushing in embarrassment. He scratched his ear as he looked at the object again. The moment his landed on bright blue optics curiously staring up at him, he let out a not-so-manly shriek and jumped back, bumping into Diana.

"IT'S ALIVE!?"

This time she snorted at him and snickered at his voice. "Yes, I told you it was a robot," she said haughtily.

He looked back at the thing warily, watching its optics zoom in on them. He gulped and looked back at Diana.

"Let's go," he urged, pulling themselves up. "I can already begin to see the car."

He pushed her forward, making sure to add some force when she tried to skid to a stop.

"John!" She pinched his arm, efficiently stopping him. "We can't leave the poor thing alone," she chatised him, going back around to the small metal being.

Giving her the most bizarre look he could muster, he threw his hands up in the air and muttered, "Women, mankind's greatest sin."

"What was that, Jojo?" was his beautiful wife's snarky reply.

"Nothing, Didi."

~~~~Several Hours Later~~~~
It had taken the both of them to drag the kicking baby robot of doom, dubbed by John, to the trunk where it screeched and practically bursted their eardrums before silencing upon examination of the strange, foreign objects around it.
"Thank the Lord," John had muttered after he started the engine to his old jeep.
When they arrived home to a decent house with two garages, they immediately dragged the robotic baby out from the trunk, who proceeded to once again shriek and jerk around as the foreign beings touched her. Eventually John left his wife to take a moment and the woman profoundly cursed his genitals out loud as she almost dropped the metal being. Placing it on top of a nearby counter, the first thing she thought to do was look for oil. Clammering around to find a gallon of oil, she silently prayed the neighbors did not hear and wouldn't question the loud ruckus going on.
Maybe they shouldn't have picked up the baby robot of doom.
But as she turned back to check on the infant, she found it curled up into a familiar blue metal ball.
A smile twitched on her face as she watched it sleep. No, she thought, this was one of the best decisions of her life.
