Title: Making Sense
Rating: G
Word count: 174
Pairing: Clary/Mattes
Round/Fight: 3/A
Summary: Mattes never really thinks about somethings, but suddenly it all makes sense. Written because this was just too adorable in my head, and Uncle Mattes is too cute.
Mattes didn't really think of marriage, but when he did, he could never quite get that word and "Clara Goodwin" in the same thought. Something about the two were just too different.
Besides, he knew, one could have a good amount of fun without the M-word ever getting involved.
This being the case, he never really gave Clary and Tom a passing thought, simply accepting the way things were, until one morning when Clary mentioned that she would be taking some time off from the Dogs in the coming months.
Even this didn't spark any further discussion, because working with Beka was all well and good too, and so life continued on for Mattias Tunstall.
He barely had time to adjust to a softer, more rounded Clary when one morning she showed up outside the Jane Street Kennel and placed a tiny scrap of pink in his arms.
Suddenly, it all made sense to him, and he joyfully returned the watery smile of both mother and daughter.
"Well, hello thereāit's a little Goodwin."
