It was curious. Stephen frowned down at the ring, lying on top of the crisp, pristine parchment. No matter what enchantment he attempted to use on it, it consistently resisted all of his efforts.

He tried a number of spells, enchantments and patterns of magic trying to bring about some sort of change - any change, at this point - but nothing happened. He was so sure it was something with this ring but, eventually, he had to concede for the night. He went to bed, his Cloak spreading out across his blanket as it so liked to do.

When he awoke in the morning, it was to the strange sensation of a heavy weight on top of him. As he opened his eyes, he had the shock of a lifetime. Instead of lying alone in his bed home in the Sanctum, his red cloak spread on top of the blankets, he was sharing said bed with a young, red-haired man who was sound asleep. It would be moments later, that he found out how their eyes were a solid, warm gold.

This is the prologue of a Strange/Human!Cloak story inspired by a Human!Cloak idea by KarToon12, we thought we'd give a try! All upcoming chapters will be longer than this one, as it is only a prologue.
