Brian's Big Secret

I do not own any Queer As Folk stuff and Sam is an Original Character

Intro

Brian looked at his reflection. He looked exhausted; there were bags under his practically bloodshot eyes.

Justin walked in with a grin on his face.

"Hey," he kissed Brian's cheek. "Ready to go to Babylon?"

"You're going without me," Brian said as he walked out of the bathroom. I'm going to grab dinner at the diner and then go see Gus."

"Then I'll go with you."

"No, you go to Babylon with Mikey, Ben, and Emmett. I'm going alone."

Brian grabbed his leather jacket and left.

Melanie opened the door when Brian rang the bell. She smiled- which was unusual since she didn't like Brian.

"We have a surprise for you," Melanie said.

"You know I hate receiving anything that isn't a hot ass to fuck," Brian said as he walked into the house.

"You'll like this one."

Melanie pushed Brian into the living room with a grin. Brian froze when he saw the 'surprise' Melanie was talking about. It was a girl two years younger than Brian whom she had met when they were in high school during Brian and Mikey's senior year. She had been two grades ahead of the kids her age. She and Brian went to the same college and on her 21st birthday, they got drunk. When they woke up, they found that they somehow ended up married. Brian- being gay- freaked out, and this blonde girl with blue eyes full of trust got him to calm down. They talked about it and decided it was better for both of them if they stayed married- to keep Brian's parents from finding out he's gay, and to keep her mother from bugging her about not having a husband-, but they agreed they get to live their lives how they want, not tied together by anything but a ring and a certificate. A couple years later the girl went to medical school in Seattle and Brian hadn't heard from her since. He had hidden the ring in his loft on Liberty Avenue.

Now here she was seven years later sitting in Lindsey and Melanie's living room and playing with Gus.

"Yep," She smiled, looking between Gus and Brian. "You look like your daddy."

"Never thought you'd see Sammy again, huh?" Lindsey asked Brian.

"No, I didn't," Brian didn't look away from Sam as he spoke. "She looks the same as she did last time I saw her."

"I could say the same about you," Sam said as she stood up and walked over to him.

They kissed, deep and passionate. Deep down Brian knew that if he had to be straight, he would want Sam. She was the only girl he would actually go straight for (if he didn't enjoy having sex with men so much, that is). They had never hidden the marriage from anyone. Justin and Ben were the only ones who didn't know since she was gone before they joined the gang.

"When did you get back?" Brian asked.

"An hour ago," Sam stated.

"Why are you back?"

"A position opened up at the local hospital for a cardiac surgeon. I got the job."

"So you're for good?"

"Yep. I work Monday through Friday from seven in the morning to about six in the evening and one weekend a month. I was going to stay with Mel and Lindsey until I found my own place."

"No need. You can stay with me. After all, we are still married.
