Cloud walked through the front door and stopped when there was complete silence. The Bar was closed and it was only 5:00 at night; Something had to be wrong. He bolted up the stairs and checked the rooms: Empty. He opened Tifa's door and saw a note on her desk.
Rushing to it, he read quickly.
Cloud,
Since I know you probably didn't check to see the note on the counter, I left one here to remind you that I had to go to a parent teacher conference for Denzel and Marlene. I hope you don't feel bad that you couldn't come along, but I'm sure you're very busy anyway. I left you some dinner in the oven. I won't be gone long.
All my love,
Tifa
Cloud mused on how well the love of his life knew him. After putting the piece of paper on the desk, some pictures in a slightly open drawer caught his attention. He knew he shouldn't snoop, but after a second hesitation, he opened it up and pulled the stack of photos out.
They were of AVALANCHE.
There was one where it was of Aeris and Tifa laughing at something irrelevant in the photo. There was also one he was sure that Tifa, herself, took: Yuffie and Vincent sitting on the grass near the Highwind looking at the sunset. There were photos of all of them smiling and laughing, posing and not posing. All of them brought a sense of comfort to Cloud's heart.
He reached the last photo and his eyes went wide.
There she was, in her fitting blue dress and sparkling jewelry. Tifa looked absolutely radiant, just like she had that night. Yet, that wasn't what caught his attention. It was the person in the purple dress, with long blond hair.
Cloud jumped up when he heard laughing behind him. He quickly dropped the photos and turned around.
Tifa was hunched over trying to catch her breath.
Cloud's jaw clenched and he grabbed the picture. "I'm burning this."
Tifa laughed harder and walked over to hug him. "Don't be shy Cloud, you're such a pretty girl."
His eyes narrowed and he brushed Tifa's arms off him. "Aw," She continued. "You know I love you no matter what!"
His frown deepened since he knew she was toying around with him. She giggled. "Besides, I made copies for everyone."
