Faded First Heart

Prologue

All was quiet in the library. Nothing out of the ordinary. The last couple left, hand in hand. I had never learned their names. Although, I didn't really care to. Then, there was that one boy. He just stands there every day staring at me. He checks out every book, right after I return it. I always see him staring at me from behind a bookshelf, and his face is red. His eyes are all fuzzy and out of focus. Does he have a problem with me or something? Although, if he did, I wouldn't really care. I have my own problems to deal with. My mother and father were arguing again as I left this morning. But, whenever I try and get into it, to put it to an end, they just scream louder. This was seriously becoming a problem. A problem that I couldn't escape for two more years. Maybe then, I can act like I was raised on my own. Sorata, he's the only living thing that I look forward to seeing everyday. His black fur, and pale white paws. I had rescued him, and that cat was my duty to cherish everyday. Make him feel special, and wanted. Unlike myself. I sighed, and stood slowly.

Entering the section of manga. Not many people in high school were as interested in manga, as I was. The vivid colors, the detailed expression, the storyline. All so wonderful, but had a strange demeanor to others. It should get more credit than it has recently. I looked through one book that I enjoyed. A manga that was known as shojou manga. Again, all to badly credited by the people of this country. I set the manga down, and headed down to the literature. That boy, hot on my tail.

He was like a shadow. No, more like a stalker. Such as that man from the scary video game that everyone speaks of. The Slender Man. Only, this time, the stalker only stayed around my school. Hopefully, with no intention of killing me.

But, this kid was quite cute. So, I had no need to complain there. His bright green eyes shined with a certain sparkle. His auburn hair fit his style and face perfectly. He seemed so innocent, like a lost puppy. An adorable man, I must admit. That's when it all happened.
