Twilight in a Glimpse..
By: m1ka
It was 11 a.m. and Bella's thoughts were lost in front of the computer. She had been sitting there for half an hour working on her English paper on Wuthering Heights, but the thought of seeing Edward later that day kept her mind from thinking straight. If only time would pass by so quickly, it wouldn't be that hard for her.
'Heathcliff's love for Catherine..No..Heathcliff loved Catherine so much..'
I can do this, she told herself. But the words all came in a blur, she knew there was no point in continuing what she was doing and so she immediately turned off the computer without even saving her work. She wasn't in the mood to do schoolwork today, and besides she can always have a reason to skip English class the next day. She looked out the window, it wasn't even noon, or she had thought the sun never shows up here anyways. She got her CD player, put in a CD she had bought the other day and lied down to her bed. It was after a few minutes when she realized she was actually drifting off to sleep.
"Bella?" She heard that sweet familiar voice somewhere before.
"Bella, I'm here.." And she remembered.
"Edward?" But it was so dark, she couldn't see anything. Where am I, she thought to herself. She was in a dark room, or was it a cave, she couldn't tell.
"Edward, where are you?"
"I'm here... its okay I..." The voice had suddenly vanished and she didn't know what to do.
Then she heard a knock.
"Bella?" Charlie had woken her up from her long nap.
"Bella, I'm here. So, what's for dinner?"
He was standing by her door, puzzled by her expression.
"Hey Bells, are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm okay dad. What time is it?"
"It's past 7 pm."
Shit.
She was supposed to meet Edward in front of the school at 5, and she didn't notice how long she had slept.
"Sorry for disturbing your sleep..Were you able to cook dinner?"
"Dad, it's in the microwave, just heat it, I have to go somewhere."
She stood up and ran as fast as she could downstairs out of the house to her truck. She could still hear her dad asking where she was going but she didn't bother. As her engine roared to life, she backed out of their front lawn and to the highway where she drove in full speed.
She was in a hurry to meet up with Edward, and she was hoping that he'd still be there. It had only taken her a few minutes when she finally arrived at the deserted parking lot. Disappointment had filled her when she saw that there was no other car there except for hers. She stopped her engine and got out. The school looked even quieter at night, she turned around hoping to get a glimpse of him from afar but he wasn't there. All was left for her to see was a piece of paper not far from where she had parked. She picked it up and read the writings on it.
Bella,
Hope you get this note. Sorry I couldn't wait for you. I wanted to show you something, but I guess you weren't ready. See you tomorrow. I love you.
Edward
