Hello everyone and welcome to my first real high school dxd fanfiction. My first story was actually about this, but it was very bad so I decided to delete it, but now that my writing skills have improved so I hope we can make a good fic.
The first 3 chapters will just be our main character finding out about himself and the power he holds. This chapter is basically just him looking at the memories of his old life with his father. It will accurately follow canon with all characters but will have some major differences along the way.
Before I explain further, I'll just list the things about Zeldris and his world.
World spirit ~ the race of Zeldris, Gwyn, Manus, and the rest of the dark souls characters. They are the most powerful race in the universe and are feared by even the dragons.
Lordran ~ home of the world spirits/ alternate version of earth.
Drangleic ~ alternate version of Lordran set after the fall of Gwyn.
Lothric ~ alternate version of Lordran and Drangleic set after Drangleic fell.
The Ringed Empire ~ the future of Lordran after Zeldris became emperor and defeated Midir.
This story will have loads of Dark souls elements, so if you are unfamiliar with that game, please try and use its wiki for information of the characters.
Below will be a very short summary of my OC, Zeldris BlackBlaze's backstory, but it is too complicated which is why I will be going into detail in this chapter.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Zeldris was the most powerful being in the universe, getting created from the life force of both Gwyn and Manus, the previous strongest gods.
He was created as a secret weapon of his race and defended against an army of evil dragons and a mysterious god that was rivalling his power level.
The rest of the backstory is really vital so I won't spoil it yet, but he went on a huge rampage after the war so his remaining allies destroyed his memories and sealed him inside the human world until he regained his old memories.
So that was the very complicated backstory that will be much further explained in this chapter. Ren Tsukiyama is the alias that Zeldris has in the human world, because...for reasons not yet revealed, Rias and her peerage would literally call Sirzechs and the three factions over if they found out…
So long story short...he's so powerful that even great red fears him, but no one will know until he reunites with his memories and becomes Zeldris BlackBlaze again.
So just think of Ren Tsukiyama as a watered down version of his true self, but not in power, because Ren could easily destroy a galaxy if he was pissed off badly.
Sorry in advance because Zeldris' backstory is very...very disturbing and I think you should all read with this warning in mind, if your wondering, the sensitive topic is rape so try to stay with me here.
Manus and Gwyn are the two main bosses in the first dark souls game and will act like Ddraig and Albion do to Issei and Vali.
The harem so far will be pretty short, but if you happen to request anyone that would be possible, I will make it happen…
HAREM ~ Esdeath (Akame ga kill), Xenovia, Raynare, Saeko busujima
Esdeath will be appearing very far on in the story, as you will see in this chapter, but the other girls will all be met in the canon world.
Hopefully, you will be able to understand this chapter from that brief summary, but I didn't want to spoil too much for you guys!
This is the first introduction, and the real story will take place in about three chapters, so please stick around and enjoy the story! Ren/Zeldris will be a student in Kuoh and will be associated with Issei and the peerage, but won't become a devil because that is way too overused. Think of him as special reinforcements...
One night, in the darkness of his room, Ren Tsukiyama was having a horrible dream...
The boy could call it a nightmare if he was awake…
He tossed and turned violently as his bed sheets ripped from their holders…
As the dream began to take a turn for the worst, the boy's hair suddenly crackled with sinister energy, the energy that would kill a normal person with just one look. It was yellow and purple in colour, streaking through his hair like small sizzling lightning bolts...
Despite the heat in the room being enough to melt titanium, nothing caught on fire...
Slowly; Ren's pale white hair began to morph into the same yellow and purple that the energy had been while it ran through his head. The child was oozing an aura of complete power and destruction as his eyes shot open, both in a different colour…
The small boy, no older than 6, shot up from a deep sleep. He was sweating profusely, Panting like he had just run 10 marathons, and he was completely pale.
Ren Tsukiyama was a normal child to the public, but there was more to this boy than what meets the eye. He was only a small boy and had no parents. He didn't even remember being anywhere but at his home. When people came around and seen a child home alone, they didn't think to inform the authorities because they probably assumed that his mother and father had gone out together quickly, but the truth was that Ren somehow had never had parents.
It was as if the boy had just appeared in the house without anyone to provide for him. Ren hated whoever his parents were for the simple reason that he was just thrown in an unknown location to fend for himself.
But how could Ren feel such complex hatred at such a young age?
The answer was simple…
Ren Tsukiyama is what people would call a boy wonder. He used his instincts to work the TV set, and from there, he learned how to read, write, speak, and all of the other basic things that children that had just been born should not even start to learn. By the time he was 3, Ren had already learned how to cook and find his own clothes in the house, as well as wash dishes. This was all from the television that soon became a hobby for young Ren.
After a long time, he saw that his body was so much frailer than the superheroes he saw in the movies, so he followed a basic training magazine when he was only four and began to take daily 10k runs around the huge complex of Kuoh. it must have been very strange to see a toddler sprinting faster than a slow car, but he soon attracted the attention of several news stations, which then lead to an invasion of privacy, and even at such a young age, Ren could tell was a bad thing.
He decided when he was five that he wouldn't attend middle school or preschool for the reason that he didn't want to look strange, not knowing anything about the world, and because of that decision, Ren had no friends. But that didn't bother him in the slightest.
He once read on the news that a pair of parents had been sent to a place called jail for leaving their child at their home while the couple went on holiday. Knowing this valuable information, Ren always came up with the excuse that his parents had very long work hours and hired what he called carers, and his neighbours and local children always bought that excuse.
The only downside of his relatively good life was that he had these strange nightmares every single night. They were extremely vivid, almost like he was recalling a memory, or watching TV. they felt so real…
The dreams consisted of the same events in the shoes of a boy that had very strange hair; purple and yellow if he could remember. The boy would be born, fight a huge black dragon, rule over a huge golden city, and fight some sort of evil supervillain. After that, things began to take a very sinister turn.
He had constant visions of the weird boy, turned man, walking into a crumbling, wartorn city to be greeted by thousands of dead bodies that Ren could assume was his dead comrades. Even though these people were completely new to him, Tsukiyama couldn't help but feel a weight in his stomach when he saw their corpses.
Ren would always break out into a fit of both sadness and rage when he saw the next vision, however…
The vision was of a girl surrounded by countless men, battered, bruised, and naked. Bleeding heavily and rotting. She had been killed over a long period of time with the men probably doing unspeakable things to her body while she died.
Ren had heard about the older males and females did for pleasure, and to reproduce, and it was called sexual intercourse, but when one person forced this upon another, it was called rape. He could tell from the despair-filled expression that she had received the latter before death, and for some reason, it made the Tsukiyama boy sick to his core.
He wondered why he was so angry at this. He had never seen this woman in his life, yet it felt like she was the most important person in his life. It all didn't make sense at this time...
Ren slowly calmed down as his pupils slowly returned to their normal size within his eyes.
"Just another stupid dream…but it felt so real..." he muttered to himself as he made his way across the room, noticing that he was drenched with sweat. Shaking his head, he went to the wardrobe and found a small T-shirt to wear. He then arrived at the mirror...and almost fainted from the sight looking him dead in the eye.
His hair was an incredible mix of both yellow and purple. He had somehow developed muscles that would be impossible for any adult, let alone an infant. His muscles were already defined from his workout routine, but this was something that not even fictional characters could possess.
"W-What the hell!?" he breathed in horror as he touched his face. Ren quickly shot his hand away as he saw a burn mark on his palm. One side of his face was as hot as lava, while the other was colder and darker than anything he had ever touched. His left side seemed to have a huge amount of heat coming from it, while the right emitted very scary darkness that made him feel a sense of dread. He didn't know how he got those things, but he could vaguely remember the man in his dreams using yellow and purple magic to kill dragons.
He quickly thought that he didn't wake up from the dream, but then he turned around to see that all of his clothes had been shredded into tiny pieces.
This was real…
Ren scurried across the floor in a panic and looked out of the window, only to be met with another horrifying sight…
It was still the dead of night in kuoh town…
Was the person in that dream really him?
And the next night, dreams became true...
(Dream)
In the vast vacuum of space, there was a huge colourless crack that seemed to be drawing things into its blurry depths. Ren was sucked inside the huge gap, seeing a ray of colours sweep past him as he dived further into the white abyss. He could hear warped voices calling a strange name…
He felt like this wasn't a dream this time. He could feel the huge rays of energy have a pleasant feel as they hit his face and the strange feeling that felt like he was being dropped from a great height.
The voices rang out to him again, speaking a strange name that sounded awfully familiar to him...
"Zeldris….save our home…"
Who was Zeldris? Ren had no clue as he travelled further away…
Suddenly, he felt an empty sensation as he was dumped out of the warp hole and sent right into a colourful sky. He could see what could only be described as the most beautiful place imaginable…
He looked below him and saw the gorgeous golden city that the man had once ruled over. To his left, he saw a huge gap in the land that seemed to emit the same purple energy as the right side of his body. On his right, he could see a vast labyrinth of towns and cities that led down to a very disgusting area, and straight ahead of him, he could see what looked like a shrine.
Suddenly, he heard a voice, powerful and ancient, call him…
"So you have arrived...young Ren…" The said boy spun on his heels out of shock and he quickly braced himself. he could see a very old man dressed in magnificent armour walk across the sky towards him. He felt the heat rise dramatically with every step the mysterious person took. He had a huge white beard and a golden crown. His eyes were shrunken so much that you could not see the colour in them anymore. He wielded a sword that was glowing in a strong holy light. Ren tried to remember who this was, as he had studied the religious mythologies greatly, due to his keen interest in the subject, but for some odd reason, he could never find exactly who this man really was.
Ren was shocked by the sudden intrusion as he stumbled on the clouds. "W-Who the hell are you old man!?" he screeched in panic as he tried to run away, only to realise that he couldn't move an inch.
"Quite a rotten language for a boy your age, don't you think?" the old king questioned, ignoring the panicked look across the child's face. "Forgive me for my alarming appearance...it has been years since I had rid the curse infecting my body…" he sighed as he scratched his beard in annoyance before his non-existent eyes widened in realisation. "Gah...how rude of me. I haven't even introduced myself! My grand name is Gwyn. Lord of Sunlight and King of Anor Londo." Gwyn revealed as he unleashed his aura that made Ren almost melt from the heat. It was like he was standing meters away from the literal sun…
"Wow…" he couldn't help but drop his jaw in awe. "My names Ren T-Tsukiyama!" the boy nervously squeaked as he stared at the menacing form of Gwyn. yep, he had never heard of some Gwyn that resembled the biblical god vaguely, with more of a warriors look to him. If Ren was honest with himself, he would have stated that he thought Gwyn looked awesome with his flaming sword that, despite its huge form, looked both cool and majestic as it smouldered in the sky.
The old man seemed shocked by his words, but he then calmed down, as he had expected it. "Say Ren. do you happen to know who your parents are?" Gwyn asked curiously, though there was some suspense behind his question that flew over Ren's head.
That question shook Ren, who went wide-eyed for a second before giving a sad and slightly angry glance at Gwyn, who almost seemed to flinch in fear at the look that the child gave him. "no...I don't remember much actually. Just that I was always alone in the house, having to learn Japanese and read myself. I didn't go to school because they just thought I was an orphan looking for a home...but I always get these horrible nightmares about some beautiful blue-haired girl being defiled in front of me...and I feel rage even though I don't know her…" he spat as Gwyn gasped at the yellow and purple eyes surging with energy.
'So he still has that amazing intellect…' Gwyn thought with a fond smile. "So have you ever done things you thought were weird...or things you couldn't explain?" he asked again, though he did his best not to anger this time. Despite him being the joint most powerful god ever, Gwyn was amazed at this boys speech and intelligence at the young age of only 6!
Ren thought for a moment. Despite still being an infant, he could not trust this stranger, but this was a dream, right? So why should he hide things in his own mind? "Well...when I was only about two, I don't know how I remember, but I accidentally made lightning bolts fly out of my hand, but they started to catch fire…" he paused, getting slightly nervous about the beaming smile on the lords face. "And just six months ago, my right hand started to be covered with this weird purple energy...like some sort of poison, but I started to feel negative emotions when I used that power...and I never revealed them to anyone, in case they lock me up somewhere…" Ren managed to catch Gwyn sighing in relief as he said about no one knowing.
"I-Is that so? Well, Ren...would you like me to tell you, just why you were abandoned in the secluded kuoh mansion...with no one to call mother and father?" the man asked nervously. A very big contrast to his earlier persona.
The boy's eyes shot open in surprise as he looked for any signs of deceit, but there was none to be found. Hesitantly, Ren nodded his head and awaited the grand truth that was about to be revealed.
"You see, child; your name is not...Ren Tsukiyama…" Gwyn revealed, causing the boy to widen his eyes for a moment before they calmed down again. "Well...your real name...is actually the most feared and respected name in the whole universe...though everyone has long thought you to be dead…" the man cryptically said with a proud smile.
"Get to the point old man…" Ren growled impatiently, not realising that he was releasing some unknown power that was greatly disturbing the lord.
"Ah yes...your name is Zeldris BlackBlaze...Ruler of the World spirits...and the holder of both abyssal...sunlight...and the mysterious eclipse magic…" Gwyn's aura surged forward in excitement as Ren gasped in realisation…
The man in the dream was him…
Which meant that the dreams…
Were his memories…
"Oh my god…" Ren almost collapsed from the shock. He saw Gwyn's sunlight aura completely soar through the land, bringing life into everything that was once withered and rotten. The rusty city of Anor Londo was pushed back into its mighty golden form, the sewers of blighttown were now brimming with life, and the chasm of the abyss...was still the chasm of the abyss.
"C-Could I...use this power!?" Ren, now Zeldris gasped in awe as the disgusting landscape was reverted back to its original form.
Gwyn grinned down at his new master, knowing just how clueless he really was. "Yes you can, but that will have to wait until we arrive back in the human realm. For now, I will be telling you all about yourself since you do not have your memories." the lord of sunlight bowed, shocking the boy.
"W-Why are you bowing to me?" Ren asked, still shocked by the current circumstances.
Without another word, Gwyn shot a spear of lightning into the sky, creating a gap big enough for the both of them to fit through. Not a moment later, they both went inside…
"Welcome to Lordran!" Gwyn boomed dramatically as they arrived above a vast landscape. Zeldris could see two portals, each in a different colour. He wondered where that led to...but they were currently in Lordran...that was all he could pick up from the situation.
The boy looked blankly at the man who he thought was some sort of god. "And what exactly is that?" Zeldris asked innocently as a gate opened.
"Well Lordran, Lothric, and Drangleic are all said to be kingdoms in world spirit mythology, but in reality, they are all the same place, just different time periods," Gwyn explained happily, but when he mentioned the other two kingdoms, his expression turned to one of immense hatred.
Zeldris was still confused though. "What are world spirits?" the boy asked again, not knowing a single thing about this new dream.
Gwyn sighed. 'I never wanted to be a teacher…' the lord of cinder groaned mentally as he looked at Zeldris. "World spirits are not known to humans. All that is known is that they are a race above all others. There exist a vast number of mythologies on earth. For example; devils, fallen angels, and angels are about one of the weakest in terms of individual power, while the Greek pantheon is said to be the strongest. While earth thinks that way, the hidden world of the supernatural knows only one mythology that stands above the rest…" Gwyn chuckled with pride emanating from him.
"So you're saying that we...are world spirits...and that all of those other myths about the world...like god and satan are real!?" the little kid jumped around in excitement, causing the lord of sunlight to smile happily.
Gwyn spread his arms around in a grand fashion like he was showing someone around a museum. "Yes! And let me show you...Zeldris BlackBlaze...the kingdom that is united behind your back!" he cheered passionately as they vanished into a portal.
The void of nothingness departed to reveal a murky prison, coloured green by moss. It stank of rotten corpses and had the sound of huge footsteps from below. "This is the undead asylum. The very first thing that invaders of our nation are greeted with. Undead adventurers tasked with destroying the worldwide curse that you see on my body all started off here. They would have to go through waves of undead before facing a huge demon guarding the exit…" Gwyn explained.
"Is all that really necessary?" Zeldris asked, wondering how anyone would be able to defend against this.
"In all honesty, it's not, but it helps greatly to keep out pesky weaklings like devils and angels. Only ultimate-class devils would be able to kill the beast that we world spirits call the asylum demon…" the huge man paused as they walked through the complex.
"How strong are these devils again?" the boy beside him asked curiously. Zeldris wanted to measure the power of these creatures in case he needed to fight one in the future.
As if reading his thoughts, Gwyn's eyebrow quirked up in a gesture of surprise. "A wise choice my lord. The devils, angels, and everything else in that mythology will be nothing more than bugs for the strongest world spirit to crush underfoot, but to give you a good idea of what level of power they hold, it would be enough for the strongest of them, Sirzechs Lucifer, Michael of the four Archangels, and Azazel of the fallen angels, to destroy a small human city with their strongest attack," he said confidently, but noticed that Zeldris had stopped dead in his tracks.
"Just how powerful am I then…" he gasped in dread. "If devils and angels can destroy cities...then what the hell am I capable of at full power?"
"Well...you must have misunderstood me when I explained who you were…" Gwyn sighed at his own incompetence. "You see...son...this whole dream is real," he said sadly, making Zeldris nod slowly, already having figured out that much. "I had my second born son, Gwyndolin, use his power to make me breach into the human realm, at the cost of the mortal mythologies knowing...and managed to invade your mind in order to speak with you...my last born...and most precious son…" Gwyn smiled bitterly.
The boy froze…
Had he heard that right!? This god was his real father!?
"S-So if you're my father...then who is my mother?" Zeldris didn't want to cry. He heard on a men's health magazine that it looked weak for boys to cry, but realising that he was not just the most powerful person in the universe, but also the son to the lord of light pushed him to that point.
Gwyn looked down in shame. Seeing his one true heir on the verge of tears was very hard for him, but he needed to reveal the other creator. "You don't have a mother Zeldris. I; Gwyn, Lord of cinder and sunlight, created you with the help of my greatest enemy...Manus...the father of the abyss and the root of all evil…" he growled in hatred as he mentioned the only creature worthy of the title devil.
"W-Who's Manus!?" even though he now had the confidence that he could beat almost everyone that he came across, he was deeply afraid of the way Gwyn said that.
The man's expression darkened several stages and he curled his fists in anger. "He is the only living creature that could rival my power, having magic that completely countered mine. Due to that fact, we both fought countless battles for the rulership of Lordran, but we could never decide a victor...and both settled to create the ultimate being of mass destruction that would defend us against the waves of evil dragons...and the older...more powerful brother of Great Red...the strongest dragon in existence...and the only thing that could beat us….Darkeater Midir…" Gwyn showed his first sign of fear as his body shook at that name.
"So Manus and you created me to fight this dragon? And Midir must have been the dragon I remember fighting and defeating in my dream…" zeldris realised, with that memory being one of his favourites.
"Yes...and it was a glorious battle my son...but we have spent too much time in the asylum. It's time to visit your memories…" Gwyn announced, receiving a firm nod from his son before they flew up into the sky…
Father and son were now back in the skies like the start of their little adventure, looking down at the shining city of Anor Londo. It was the one place that looked completely clean in the kingdom of lordran, having gargoyles and silver plated knights roaming in the plaza.
Gwyn clicked his ironclad fingers and they were both engulfed in a golden ray of light. Seconds later, they re-emerged into what looked to be the throne room.
They both looked upon a ball of black and white energy floating in the middle of the room. The orb sparkled with crackling energy and gave off an aura of pure death and destruction. Just seeing it made Zeldris want to run away, and it was having the same effect on even the mighty Gwyn. the ball of light and darkness began to change shape and took the form of what looked like a fetus. The fetus then started to gain its body...and then there was a child lying on the throne, surrounded by various different gods and knights, along with a healthy looking Gwyn and a very large horned monster who looked very out of place.
"That child is me?"
Gwyn looked down, but he saw no tears coming from the boy. Instead, he saw a beaming bright smile of what could only be described as hope. "Yes...my son. This was the grand day of your birth!" he shouted triumphantly as Zeldris seemed very happy about that fact.
Darkmoon Gwyndolin, Wolf Knight Artorias, Dragonslayer Ornstein, Executioner Smough, Witch of Izalith, Gravelord Nito, Hawkeye Gough, Seath the Scaleless, Princess Filianore, Gwynevere, and the father of the abyss Manus.
Those gods all attended the birth of Zeldris BlackBlaze. They were all allied with Gwyn, and therefore felt very annoyed that their greatest enemy was joining in on the celebration. The group was gathered around the newly born child, giving it special blessings and passing on parts of their power to him. This was all Zeldris ever wanted…
A family…
"Are you pleased...my son?" Gwyn asked cautiously, but his heart melted when he saw the overjoyed expression on the child's face. "These...are your loyal family. When we return to the human world, we may not be allowed to see them, considering that the fucking sis-con Sirzechs may be at your home when we go back, but I promise that when you retrieve your memories, you will be able to see them all again." the Lord said solemnly as Zeldris nodded sadly.
"I understand…" Zeldris sighed as he looked longingly at the group of people, all with smiles on their faces.
Suddenly, Gwyn snapped his fingers again and they were both transported further ahead in time.
The pair had not changed places but we're now up in the rafters of the throne room with the painting guardians that protected a place called Ariamis where Gwyn's secret second daughter resided in. the event below seemed like a royal procession as they saw millions of silver knights and various other monsters kneel as a man walked through the golden hall.
Every last creature of the abyss was there as well, looking on in awe and joy as the man that Zeldris now knew was himself, walked up towards the lord of sunlight Gwyn, and father of the abyss Manus.
Just as Zeldris was about to ask his father about something, he heard one of the people below speak in a voice filled with power…
Darkmoon Gwyndolin, second born son of Gwyn, rolled down a piece of parchment as he cast a spell into the roof of the palace. "We are gathered here today to celebrate the crowning of our new emperor!" the boy, who looked very much like a woman, announced pridefully as the silver knights roared in approval.
"My faithful Darkmoon knights, our forever loyal silver knights, and our guests from the abyss! I, Gwyndolin, Darkmoon prince and son of the lord of sunlight...present his royal majesty…"
"Zeldris BlackBlaze!" the ladyboy roared out as the man made his way down the hall and smiled charmingly. He had long, shoulder-length purple and golden hair, muscles that made him stand out from even the most physically outstanding gods, and an aura that would make even those unloyal to him kneel from the power alone. He wore golden armour that shone in the sunlight, and a long purple cape that stretched to the floor. He wore three weapons on his person, all three with different uses. He had two swords, one of sunlight, and one of abyssal magic, but he also had a scythe that glowed with the same black and white energy that was seen at his birth…
The eclipse scythe…
Every soul in the building bowed so deep that their heads were touching the floor, showing absolute respect and loyalty. Gwyndolin smiled brightly at his younger brother and kneeled, presenting a black and white crown to him. "My lord...my brother...and my emperor...please accept our most gracious treasure. The most powerful magic item in all the universe...the reversal crown…" Gwyndolin announced with scary anticipation in his eyes, waiting eagerly for his brother to take the crown.
The reversal crown was an item that would grant the user complete immunity to any attack that was weaker than the user. It would pretty much grant the wearer immortality, for any attack that could not surpass the owner's power level was instantly cast back at the attacker. With someone as stupidly powerful as Zeldris wearing it, he would never be harmed for the extent of his almost endless life span.
"I gratefully accept your gift...dear brother…" the soft, caring voice of the new emperor rang out, touching the hearts of everyone present. Past Zeldris placed the crown on his head, sending a shockwave of energy out into the room. The crown was surrounded in the black and white eclipse energy and settled down peacefully.
The man rose from the golden throne and cleared his throat. "Thank you...all of you. My birth...and now...my reign is all thanks to the sacrifice of my creators; the merciful and mighty Gwyn, and the fearsome and brutal Manus of the abyss! Unfortunately, they sacrificed their bodies to create me...so they could not be here in person, but they will always be inside my mind, and for that, I am eternally grateful!" Zeldris shouted out, receiving a cheer of approval from both factions.
The emperor then stood in the centre of the stage, sending a serious look that struck the greatest fear into even the heavenly dragons ddraig and Albion who were present. "This is the start of a new age! For millenniums, the sunlight and abyssal people have been at war. That all ends with my rule. From this day forward, there will be no more needless violence, we will survive as one...and it is my eventual goal...to take over the world with the help of your combined forces!" zeldris announced, making a few gasps be heard.
"The world spirit race will not hide in the shadows anymore! We will announce our return and I, your new emperor, will personally see to the destruction of the evil dragon! You may think it is impossible, but I swear that I will be the warrior to kill Darkeater Midir and bring peace to lordran!" Zeldris shouted at the top of his lungs, making his allies stand in applause.
A beautiful woman, who instantly made Zeldris, who was up in the rafters, widen his eyes in shock, lifted up her arm and formed a fist. "ALL HAIL OUR NEW EMPEROR! ZELDRIS BLACKBLAZE!" she roared powerfully, sending a huge chill down everyone's spine before a chorus of applause broke out.
"HAIL OUR EMPEROR!" everyone shouted in joy.
Up in the rafters, the real Zeldris and Gwyn looked down below.
"It was her…"
Gwyn looked at his son, who was looking like he had seen a ghost.
"She was the one in my dreams...she was the woman who was killed by those warriors…"
Gwyn widened his eyes in terror and surprise. "Oh no…" he gasped, dreading what this could mean. "Zeldris...we will come to that time soon, but please...just forget about her for a moment….please…" he begged, with invisible tears streaming from his eyes as he watched his son look at the blue-haired woman with dead eyes like he was staring at the most horrifying thing ever.
The lord of sunlight quickly transported away from the scene, but not before he heard something truly shocking come from the young god's mouth…
"Esdeath…" Zeldris whispered, in a much deeper voice as he was sucked into the portal…
Zeldris was now with Gwyn, staring at a huge battlefield spanning hundreds of miles and filled with the corpses of silver knights and humongous dragons.
Ahead of them, they could see two figures in the distance…
The past Zeldris Blackblaze was using the scythe of the eclipse to fight a dragon that almost cast a shadow over the nation due to its size. Zeldris was standing over the head of Darkeater Midir, whose skull was the size of a small town. It growled ferally as it looked at the cold, merciless eyes of its killer.
The older version of Zeldris spoke coldly as he sneered at the purple and black dragon. "And you...call yourself my equal? What a pathetic joke. Throughout our fight, I could have killed you 657 times, but 656 times, I decided to spare your filthy life." the emperor hissed venomously as he grazed the dragons head with the greatsword of sunlight, making Midir hiss in anger and pain.
The huge dragon, making even the nation of Lordran look small in comparison, looked at the emperor with a mixture of fear and confusion. "W-Why have you not killed me? You mercilessly massacred my comrades, the evil dragons, without hesitation, but why are you doing this!?" Midir roared in rage and terror.
"Isn't it obvious...dragon filth? You are the older and more powerful brother of Great Red. it would be a waste to just kill you off here, so I will offer you a choice…" Zeldris smirked darkly, sending a chill up even his future self who was watching from afar.
Midir shuddered at the man's terrifying smile but chose to answer in case he was denied his life. "A-And what choice would that be?" the huge dragon asked shakily.
"Why is it not obvious? I think of all dragons, and anyone who opposes the World Spirit race as lower than garbage, but with you in our ranks, Lordran would not need to rely on me all the time. Think of it as you being the symbol of our nation!" Zeldris spread his arms out with a sick smile.
Midir and future Zeldris were both shocked to their cores as they stared at the gold and purple-clad emperor. "W-What!?" the dragon of the abyss gasped.
Zeldris' foot came down like a Warhammer onto Midir's skull, making a loud cracking sound as they all heard the dragon scream in agony. "You dare to speak against this, you lowly beast?" the man hissed angrily as he dug his metal boot deeper into the thick flesh of the draconic legend.
"B-But my comrades were killed by your hand!" Midir tried desperately to defend himself.
"Fuck your comrades. Do you think I give a shit about the dragon filth whose blood runs down my scythe? You are all worms to me...no...you are even less than a worm, but I have offered you, your race, and your loved ones their freedom…" Zeldris' voice became lower as his two eyes lit up like a fire.
"Join me, the strongest living lifeform in the universe, and everything after, be the symbol of terror that strikes fear in the hearts of every other insignificant race, and become the only dragon with the honour of being called my guardian…" Zeldris paused, smiling at the look of utter shock and joy that plagued Midir's face. "Or...be a fool. Refuse and I will hunt down every last dragon, evil or not, and hang their severed heads on the towers of Anor Londo. You will be tortured for years upon years and watch everyone close to you die…" A devilish smile appeared on the man's face as he leaned in so close that his face was mere inches from Midir's yellow eye. "And I'm sure that a proud dragon like you wouldn't like that...now would you?" he mocked as he flared the aura of the eclipse, making Gwyn and the future Zeldris shudder from the pure primal power that radiated from the man.
Midir's mind was made up. He closed his massive yellow eye in defeat and flashed a toothy smile while under the man's foot. "Very well...I will join your noble cause...my master...my emperor...I will hunt down everyone that is foolish enough to make the same mistake that I have just done…" the gigantic behemoth grinned, feeling slight excitement from being under the control of such a powerful master.
Midir and his brother, Great Red, both hated people that were weaker than themselves. Midir was far stronger than his younger sibling and left their home in Archdragon Peak to attack the kingdom of Lordran which he heard was ruled by a man who despised dragons. Midir had also found out that the two heavenly dragons DDraig and Albion had made themselves loyal to this emperor, which made the dragon of the abyss feel great betrayal.
It was then that Midir made the fatal mistake of destroying a place called New Londo. It was a city that was meant to be a last-ditch escape route if Anor Londo fell, but it housed many people who had pledged their undying loyalty to the emperor, who Midir was terrified to find, was the fabled child born with both abyssal and sunlight magic, as well as mastering the completely unknown magical power that was named eclipse.
That was the battle that the whole dragon race feared the name Zeldris Blackblaze. When Great Red and Ophis heard the news that their leader, the strongest dragon in existence had been conquered without even a single wound, they immediately fell into panic, sending the 6 dragon kings down to the underworld in an effort to ally with the devils and both of them finding out information about this young man that had annihilated the strongest army they had without much effort.
The two remaining dragon gods were then tracked down by Midir himself, who warned them to stay out of his new master's affairs, so they both stayed neutral out of fear for their lives…
Gwyn looked down at his son.
"Zeldris...my child...what are your opinions on this memory?" the mighty lord asked kindly as he couldn't help but smile proudly at the image of his son's former power.
Zeldris looked at Midir, admiring how big he was compared to the other dragons, and then looked at his past self. The small but intelligent child was stunned to see himself act so ruthless and cruel, but a part deep inside him seemed to smile from it. He wondered if that was Manus' doing… "I think that was good...but there is worse...right?" the child asked with a hardened stare.
Gwyn flinched from the scarily accurate question but decided to hide it. "Yes...now...these are memories that I and the lords of cinder didn't want you to see due to your young age, but Manus demanded that you witness them with your own eyes. He said that you would feel immense rage and sadness, but in the end, you would come out stronger…" he said hesitantly as he saw Zeldris blink in confusion.
"If you're communicating with me, then where is Manus?"
Gwyn scowled under his long white beard, remembering the boy's other father. "It was agreed that Mauns would be a bad influence with you being at a young age. We gods at Anor Londo thought that he should enter your mind with me when you grow into maturity, at around the age of 16, but considering you already possess the maturity of someone double that age, you should not be at any risk of being influenced by his evil ways…" he said, folding his arms strictly.
"Say what you want, but he is still my father, and so are you, so I will treat him with respect and kindness despite his dark history…" Zeldris' voice became deep again for the second time, making Gwyn step back in fear as he sensed the magic power within the boy becoming more controlled, like his old self.
"R-Right...I will inform Seath the Scaleless, my fellow lord of cinder to transfer his soul into your mind when we return to reality…" the lord of sunlight timidly replied, seemingly plagued by horrible fear and a shadow of his normal self. It seemed that whatever Zeldris just said...or the way he said it made the powerful man completely terrified…
Not risking being turned into nothingness by the boy who seemed to revert to his past personality when he was angered, Gwyn snapped his fingers again and they were transported to the start of Zeldris' darker memories.
The pair arrived in a large room glowing with a disgusting grey light. A cauldron steaming with a mysterious liquid was boiling in the centre with an old woman kneeling over it, repeating dull chants that echoed throughout the chamber.
"̷͘͘͟: ̴̀́͡͞ {̷̀͠͞) ͏̷} ͜͟_̢͘͟ + ͡҉ | ̨͘͜͟! ̵̀̕͢҉ £ ̷͝͠% ͘͠ $ ̸̧̡ & ̶̀͢͟_̵̢̢̧ + ̧̕͜͝} ̵̨͟͢͝ + ̵̧͏̸͝} ̷̵̕ ~ ҉̧͝͠? ̴̀"
The woman then hoisted a child into the air. The baby was crying and wailing in fear. The newborn was dumped into the cauldron that instantly consumed his body, melting it into the mix.
"What the hell is she doing to that baby…" Zeldris gasped in disgust as he got a bad feeling in his stomach.
"That monster of a woman is creating your worst enemy…" Gwyn hissed in complete rage as he looked at the witch that was smiling evilly as an orb of grey energy sprouted from the pot. "Velka...the goddess of sin. She is the woman indirectly responsible for the nightmares you have had. She is the cause of your pain...and the one reason why you are not still in your majestic old kingdom…" the lord roared in rage as he glared daggers at the memory of the woman.
"Hehehe...this is the being capable of killing Zeldris Blackblaze…" the witch said as a new baby covered in disgusting energy that made the two viewers want to gag. "He won't even know what's going on until it's too late!" she cackled sadistically as the baby grew into a middle-aged man with brown hair in only a few seconds
"Is she serious!?" Zeldris looked distressed as he asked Gwyn, tugging at his clenched fist.
The old man sighed as he gripped his sword in frustration, agonising over the fact that he couldn't just cut her down and end all of the sufferings. "Unfortunately...she speaks the truth…" he spat. "Your past self went out to make a peace treaty with Helheim and alfheim of the Norse mythology, but she was busy creating that...fucking monster…" Gwyn's dark eye-sockets glowed golden in pure anger as he seethed at the image of the man.
Zeldris had never seen Gwyn act like this, but decided to brace himself for the worst. "What is his name?" he asked, trying to resist the part of him that wanted to rip the man in two.
"Zenburo...the god of despair and suffering…" Gwyn hardly kept himself stable as he uttered the name that was royally hated within the whole of lordran. "We need to move...your worst memories have officially arrived…" Gwyn sighed sadly as he gripped the boy's hand. The grasp could have crushed a planet, but since Zeldris could obliterate a whole galaxy without breaking a sweat made the grip feel like light pressure on his hand.
They both warped out of the memory that started the fall of the ringed empire and went to the horrid genocide that Zenburo had created in the future…
They had now arrived in the destroyed ruins of Anor Londo. The city was now in a bluish dull tint and a shell of its former glory. "Gwyn fought back the urge to blow something up as they flew down to the castle.
Inside the crumbling palace, there were countless sliver knights lying on the ground.
Darkmoon Gwyndolin was smashed against the wall with his bow and staff clutching his robes.
The four knights of Gwyn; Artorias, Gough, Ornstein, and Ciaran were all scattered around the throne room, weapons in hand, showing that they fought until the very end.
The sunlight princess Gwynevere was lying, butchered in her sleep, hanging from her bed.
Finally, in the very throne room where her comrades and friends had been massacred, Esdeath; the queen of Anor Londo and loving wife of Zeldris Blackblaze was being stomped on by enemy soldiers. Her body was almost unrecognisable save for her beautiful blue hair that was now tangled and pale. She had been used and abused for days with no one to save her…
Suddenly, the giant doors of the throne room were blown straight from their hinges. All of the soldiers turned to see an armoured man radiating an aura of pure death and bloodlust. Behind him was the entire army that had stormed Anor Londo. They were all skinned to the bone and incinerated by the abyssal flames of Midir who was ordered to kill anything that moved.
It was the last thing that the guards saw as their bodies were ragdolls out of the room, landing with a thud on the hard ground. A moment later, Midir's huge head descended down and swallowed them all up. Zeldris could hear their terrified screams as they plummeted down the neck of the dragon.
Zeldris showed no emotion as he looked at the corpse of his wife, though his aura increased ten-fold with the reveal. His eyes were lifeless and not a single tear was shed for her.
Footsteps could be heard as a man revealed himself.
It was Zenburo…
"So nice of you to join us...your majesty~" the sinister voice of the god rang out.
Zeldris showed no signs of being affected as he walked towards the culprit. "You must be Zenburo…" his icy voice sent a shiver down the spine of his enemy. "Tell me...are you the one who killed my friends? And the woman I loved?" his voice was chilling, so innocent, but behind that was a hidden rage.
"Hmph...well of course!" Zenburo shouted mockingly. "My men had a few rounds with that beauty before we gave her to the dogs as a snack. She always told us that you would kill us in the worst way possible, but she didn't know that I possess just as much power as y-" a hand laced with sunlight gripped his head, searing his face clean off.
"Enough talk pig...Esdeath was right...your death will not be enough to satisfy me…" Zeldris slammed Zenburo through the thick stone layers of Anor Londo, sending the spawn of evil through the entire planet like a spear.
Zenburo was shocked that he had been harmed by his rivals attack, but before he could recover, a black and white blur of energy blitzed towards him, faster than anything in existence. He was hit with a huge kick to the gut, sending him hurtling through space, but when he tried to achieve balance, he was sent into another planet.
"Fool...you dare call yourself my rival? I stand above every other living creature in both power and intelligence, and you still think that you have a chance? Pathetic…" Zeldris hissed as he cut Zenburo clean in half with his scythe.
Zenburo regenerated fully in under a second, firing magic spells at the bullet that was Zeldris, but the spells did nothing but make the man chuckle darkly. "You say your strength is equal to me? Then you are truly doomed…" Zenburo was then hit with a wave of abyssal magic that ripped the very fabric of space and time, sending them both into a void. "Those measly spells would only serve to amuse me...but unfortunately for you...I'm not in a laughing mood." Zenburo's body was ripped in half with a punch.
The regeneration was slower this time. "So you are weaker. Just as I thought. You could only match me in physical power...so every other aspect of yourself is largely inferior to a supreme being like my self…" Zeldris laughed coldly, his eyes still swimming with anguish as he slammed his fist down on his enemy.
Zenburo's body was beginning to malfunction. The healing was starting to fail. "Damn! Mistress Velka never said he would be this strong! How! Why! It's not fair!" he cried as he was incinerated again.
"You still don't understand? Just how incompetent can you be?" Zeldris mocked as he began to cast his most powerful spell. "Velka..was it? I'll be sure to visit her and dole out some of my own justice…" he snarled as the energy was forming into a huge ball of black and white.
"N-No! What are you doing!?" Zenburo began to panic as he saw the huge orb of eclipse energy.
"This is where you die…" Zeldris continued to monologue as the ball descended into his hand. "This is for all the poor souls you killed...this is for my father Gwyn….and this...is for Esdeath…" Zeldris let a single tear slip down his face as he raised his hand.
"Please! I'm sorry! I was ordered to! Spare me!" he pleaded, now looking like a scared child...as if it is what he really was...
[Eclipse magic….Zenith Supernova!] Zeldris shot his hand down as the ball of energy shot towards Zemburo, ignoring the man's cries for help, who was weeping in despair, not knowing just how badly he had gone wrong. The ball of light hit him straight in the chest.
For moments, Zenburo was floating there, looking confused as he watched the ball inside him….
But then…
The ball exploded into a flare of light, completely destroying the last remains of Zenburo, sending his soul plummeting back down to earth. The supernova expanded in size, swallowing everything in sight, like a black hole. After Zenburo was utterly annihilated by the flare of energy, the attack didn't cease. Zeldris' face didn't show any signs of relief or satisfaction when the murderer of his wife was killed, with his soul continuing to feel a terrible pain that Eclipse magic caused the victim. The man merely sighed into the emptiness of space as he watched Midir's huge form fly towards him, carrying several enemy troops in his bloodsoaked jaws.
"How disappointing...to think that the only thing my 'greatest rival'could do to harm me was killing off the only people I ever cared about…" Zeldris said in a hollow tone as he watched his terrifying spell devour a neighbouring planet in boredom. "I was thinking that I could taste defeat for the first time in my life...but it seems that I really am the strongest being in the universe…" the man smiled to himself in a moment of arrogance, still hiding the burning grief of losing his loved ones.
Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Venus, Mercury, Uranus…
In only half an hour, Zenith Supernova would destroy every single planet in earth galaxy. Why? Zeldris' emotions were like a wildfire inside him, burning with both sadness and rage, taking an emotion that could be compared with sadistic joy, or a warped satisfaction from seeing every lifeform on those planets die. He enjoyed death, or more specifically, the death of his enemies, but a fact that had been hidden in the darkest vaults of Lordran was that whenever Zeldris had been severely angered by something or someone, he would relieve that anger by wiping out that poor creatures race, or a random race if the creature acted alone. It was the reason that he was feared by even the Greek gods who built shrines of him in hopes of being in good favour, but Zeldris was only amused by the pathetic attempts of them becoming his allies.
Zenith Supernova was a spell, like Eclipse magic, created by Zeldris himself. It was named the single most destructive magic spell in the known history, having unlimited potential, being able to stay in existence until its caster ran out of magic energy, but Zeldris Blackblaze held the single highest amount of magic power, to the point that he could fire a high powered beam of sunlight or abyss magic for billions of years without even tiring, while his two fathers could only manage that feat for a total of 100 years.
While he was feared by everyone, including his closest friends, he also commanded the respect of every single being that had seen him fight. He was completely unmatched in hand to hand combat and using weapons. Even without his magic power, he could still have killed Midir with pure skill. He had pulled off the impossible by defeating Artorias in a greatsword duel, disarming Ornstein in spear combat, Blitzing Ciaran in a sprint race, and killing 100x more dragons than Gough in an archery hunting contest. He had bested the 4 knights of Gwyn, who all together could beat Gwyn on his own and even defeated Gwyn and Manus at the same time.
After those facts were spread around earths races, no one even tried to question the young adult's power. The three factions of the Arabic mythology that walked on earth, heaven and the underworld completely avoided all contact with him after the devil king Asmodeus mockingly announced that he could beat Gravelord Nito, a lord of cinder, in combat. And that farce resulted in the 4 lords of cinder invading their capital city of Lilith in the height of their holy war and torturing the devil king until he gave them every little secret of their race. This made the devils afraid of the world spirits, with them knowing everything about the devils...but they would soon be in for a rude awakening when they find out that the most powerful world spirit was living in the same town as Rias Gremory, sister of the current Lucifer...
"M-May I ask what you plan to do..master?" Midir asked cautiously as he saw the burning rage in the eyes of his now beloved ruler. The newly named dragon of eclipse had never seen such hate and evil in the man's eyes, and even for the evilest and most powerful dragon to ever live, he was scared straight.
"Do not fear Midir...this does not have anything to do with you." Zeldris smiled as he turned his finger to the right, directing his spell onto the next galaxy. "That foolish child thought he could challenge me...and made me go all out when he killed...Esdeath…" the man's mask cracked momentarily as he held his face in his hand, scowling at himself.
Midir was beyond the point of pity for his master. Queen Esdeath was the most powerful supernatural entity in history, being granted entrance into the world spirit realm for her strength alone, but she fell for the leader of the kingdom and they soon became deeply in love. Even though the denizens of Lordran absolutely despised weaker beings, Esdeath proved to be almost as powerful as Artorias, the strongest of the Knights of Gwyn, winning the approval of both Gwyn and Manus, sealing their marriage. Midir could only imagine the horror that his master was experiencing, but chose not to comment…
"I suspect he was just sent with orders by Velka...but I will never forgive that filth for what he did to me...and if it is possible, I will revive him only to brutally kill him again...out of all the human bagworms I have culled, I most look forward to what horrid face he makes when he was hit by my supernova…" Zeldris continued, now with a crazed smile that sent a chill down Midir's spine. "And Velka...she will have something even worse. Maybe I should make her a sex slave for my friends in the secret ringed city. It would be poetic justice for what that hag did to my wife, but I don't think that Gilgamesh would appreciate having that ugly bitch to pleasure…" he sneered, his thoughts turning darker by the second. Midir started to see abyssal energy course through his head, meaning that Manus' personality was beginning to leak into his actions.
"With all due respect...my emperor...the spear of the church and commander of your mortal forces would do well to accept anything you give him. If one was as foolish and bold as to reject an offering from you of all people, I would take the greatest of joy grinding them into a paste…" Midir grinned back.
Zeldris chuckled darkly as he looked upon the scattered remains of the galaxy. "I will deal with Velka privately...but I have a special mission for you...my loyal dragon…" Zeldris said, losing the unhinged smile that made him look like a serial killer, for a serious glare that practically paralyzed Midir out of fear. "Send word to every single race on the realms of earth. Tell them of the destruction of their galaxy. Tell them that I will personally drown them all in a ray of searing sunlight if they dare to conspire against me. Midir; you will deliver this message yourself. Once you have done that, return to the ringed city and await further orders…" Zeldris smiled fondly, making the dragon widen his eyes in shock.
"This is a new age. Thanks to that foolish mongrel...I have been pushed too far. We will embark on a new chapter...we will make our empire in the completely secret Ringed city and work on gathering the other superior races like dragons and godkin...the top greek gods may also be of some small use, and order Seath to cast resurrection magic on our fallen friends in Anor Londo…" Zeldris finally finished his new plan as he vanished from the atmosphere without a trace, leaving the eclipse dragon to watch the complete carnage that his master had left.
"Very well master...but I sense that your allies in the ringed empire will not take those orders well…." Midir spoke with a scowl, remembering the special forces that aided Zeldris. Seconds later, the massive dragon zoomed off into a separate dimension, heading for the city that worshipped Zeldris Blackblaze like a god…
Gwyn and the real Zeldris, who were right next to the emperor of the ringed city, were shaking from the pure power that was released. Zenith Supernova was a move that no one could ever hope to match. It was a technique that used so much magic power that Gwyn and Manus, who were as strong as dragon gods, couldn't even cast it for more than a day. That wave of destruction would continue to rip through the universe for a total of 80 billion years. The longest time a spell had been cast before Zeldris was a spell called Sunlight Maelstrom, the signature and strongest spell that Gwyn could cast. He used it for a total of 5 million years, sending it onto the realm of Helheim when they announced their allegiance with Midir, who was their enemy at the time. It just went to show the huge gap between father and son.
"So...he actually destroyed our solar system!? I never even seen supervillains from those TV shows do that!" Zeldris shouted in disbelief as he watched the black and white ball expand in size again, swallowing and annihilating everything near it, though it spared earth.
"Worse than that...he planned on destroying every planet in existence, making earth the only place with life…" Gwyn sighed sadly, mourning his son's fate. "He went completely mad with wrath, killing anything and anyone that even tried to stop him. There was a time where he would even kill some of his old friends for interfering in what could only be described as a universal genocide. He was completely consumed by the abyssal side of himself, becoming the root of all evil like his father, and then...through some miracle...his closest friends in the ringed city managed to trick him and seal his memories in that crown...essentially betraying him in his final moments…" the god growled venomously, but he did give them credit for saving the remaining mythologies from Zeldris' wrath.
Zeldris was somehow feeling immense anger when he saw this man Zenburo...it was like he had known him before, and the hatred was still fresh in the young boy's mind. The woman, now revealed as Esdeath, was probably in the human realm as well, like him, which gave Zeldris another goal once he made it back into reality. "And what happened to Zenburo?" he asked, resisting to spit the name out of his mouth with killer intent.
"His soul was transported back into the ringed city, where the lords of cinder reside...with Seath the Paledrake…" Gwyn explained, scowling slightly.
The boy next to him was leaking killing intent as he watched his past self destroy every corner of the universe. "Should we move now?" he asked, getting very tense with his past right next to him.
"Of course...and now...this will be the last memory that was recorded in your mind before you were sent to earth…" Gwyn began to smile bitterly as they teleported to their final destination…
Shortly after Zeldris summoned the Zenith Supernova, he paid a visit to Velka, who was hiding in the depths of Ash lake, under a huge Greatwood called god oak. She had no hope of escaping as she was slowly and painfully tortured physically and mentally by the emperor who laughed throughout her suffering.
He absorbed her soul into the eclipse scythe as a trophy, massacring the serpent men, her own race. He spared no one that was in any way related to the massacre at Anor Londo, going as far as to kill unborn children that shared the same blood as his most hated enemy.
While committing these unforgivable actions, he was hoping to find how Zenburo was created and managed to age into maturity so fast. He knew that Velka didn't offer up her magical power, as it would be nothing compared to Gwyn and Manus, who offered up even their physical bodies to birth Zeldris. In the end, he only knew that the man was created to be evil, automatically hating Zeldris for no reason other than the witch willed it. Even though he now knew that the boy was just a mere puppet acting in his creator's will, he could not even try to forgive him for that…
Gwyn stood on a cliff, looking at the beautiful palace that was the ringed city. This was the place that only the world spirits and their closest allies knew about...the real kingdom of Zeldris blackblaze. Anor Londo only held a fraction of the power that this place did.
Billions of demons plagued the lower levels of the realm...
Summoning giants used countless archers to attack intruders before they could even touch the floor of the ancient city…
Two immensely powerful demon brothers guarded the gate to the city, transforming into a huge dragon when defeated…
The huge lake beneath the capital was infested with deadly insects and acid that would melt flesh in a second. At the end of that lake stood an old hero, the partner of Ornstein and a fellow dragon slayer who was dressed in full iron armour thicker than titanium and equipped with a huge axe bigger than his whole body…
Darkeater Midir guarded the passage to the palace, using his abyssal fire to kill anyone within the target zone. He was the symbol of the ringed city and the thing that struck fear in anyone who stumbled across the old ruin.
But the single most terrifying thing about the capital was the unique knights that wandered its upper layers.
The ringed knights…
These soldiers made silver knights look like cannon fodder, wielding extremely powerful weapons that depended on their rank. All of the weapons used by the ringed knights were made from the flesh of Midir, making them indestructible and capable of wielding flame magic that would normally melt a sword. All ringed knights possessed an ancient flame called Chaos magic that was created by the witch of izalith, not as powerful as Sunlight magic, but a very close second in terms of firepower.
The weakest of them carried a normal straight sword that was pitch black like all other weapons. The sword could be lengthened with a blade of flame and could be used with two hands to cast magic. Even the weakest of these amazing troops were at the level of an ultimate-class devil…
The next rank was the spear fighters that used a double-edged spear that was also capable of using chaos flames…
The last and most powerful group of Ringed knights were stationed inside the palace, protecting their emperor and his friends. They carried two ultra-greatswords that weighed more than an elephant, looking like they were carved ruggedly like giant slabs. They were coloured differently from the red, black, and orange colour scheme of their peers, having a unique white and black armour. They would accompany Zeldris wherever he went, following their leader and unmatched swordsman Gilgamesh, the king of kings and strongest mortal in existence. together, the elite group who were feared as the 'ring of death' annihilated their enemies with ease, coming back to their city with a zero fatality rate…
"And that...is the might of your nation Zeldris…" Gwyn smiled down at his son but wondered why he was so distracted.
"Father...if that bastard Zenburo killed my family and friends in Anor Londo...why did you say that they are still alive?" Zeldris asked innocently, though Gwyn could see his eyes flare up in purple and gold, showing he was angry.
'He saw right through me at such a young age!?' the lord of sunlight was stunned as he looked at the boy in shock, fear running through his brain. "This memory will show you...I am sorry for lying…" he submitted as Zeldris nodded, but Gwyn could still feel his powerful gaze even when he turned away.
"I'll accept that answer for now…" Zeldris warned as he settled down on the cliff. He saw a field full of pink flowers surrounding a huge grave. That was the grave of Filianore, the old queen of the ringed city that was a stand-in for her brother. She had died of old age as her magic was drained from making a barrier over the ringed city to hide it from the world, but now that the barrier was gone, the city of Zeldris would be visible to everything.
Gilgamesh, the king of kings and commander of the mortal legion that allied with Zeldris, was standing on the field of roses with a bitter smile on his face, very out of character for his cocky self. Gilgamesh was an emperor before his kingdom was crushed by Zeldris. After he was repeatedly killed and revived by the man, he eventually agreed to join Zeldris, and several centuries later, he even pledged loyalty to him. He was extremely arrogant, seeing himself above anyone but his master. He wielded the sword of rupture, a sword that nears the level of the greatswords of sunlight and abyss.
Gilgamesh has the title 'spear of the church' which means that he is the single guardian of the palace. He defends the palace with his sword and countless magical abilities that are all in the divine class, meaning that he could cast holy magic to the level of the biblical god himself.
"Guards! Kneel before your emperor!" Gilgamesh roared loudly as the black and white ringed knights dropped to the floor swiftly, bowing their heads to the ground with absolute loyalty. Gilgamesh froze when he saw his master shoot straight down from the sky like a meteor and land on the floor in front of him.
Zeldris looked bored as he casually stepped forward, not bothering to greet his friend as he made his way into the palace.
"Zeldris! Is it true that the destruction of the galaxy was your doing!?" the king of kings shouted angrily, forgetting who he was talking to in a moment of rage.
The emperor turned his head over his shoulder, sneering at the commander with cold eyes. "And why do I have to explain anything like that to a worm like you?" he icily hissed as he opened the doors of his palace.
Gilgamesh thought that he was talking to a completely different person. He had never been spoken too like that by Zeldris, even when his arrogance ended up offending the man. The hero looked down, scowling as he sighed. "Seath was right...you can't be saved…" he said bitterly, with some regret in his voice.
"What the fuck did you just say scum!?" the emperor snapped as his energy flared.
This confirmed the Paledrakes theory. Zeldris would never be this furious over a slight threat like that, probably thinking that Gilgamesh was just being his cocky self, but this seemed to be nothing like the leader he knew.
He had drowned in his own hatred…
Zeldris was about to end his friend's life when he felt a huge amount of magical energy stop him in his tracks. "What...is...this…" he snarled inhumanly as he was met with the face of a white dragon.
"This foolishness has gone on long enough...you are not our emperor...you're just a monster now…" Seath hissed.
"Seath...what the hell are you doing!" Zeldris screamed in anger, quickly breaking the barrier with ease.
The man then froze as he saw figures that only appeared in his dreams. "Stop this Zeldris...please…" Gwyn said in sorrow as the four knights guarded him reluctantly.
"YOU BASTARD! HOW ARE YOU ALIVE!" he screamed in horror...but as he turned again, he saw something completely unreal.
A pair of silky smooth hands descended upon him, lifting his crown off of his head. Zeldris' heart stopped when he saw the waving blue hair covering his vision. "Zeldris...my love...I'm sorry…" Esdeath whispered as she stripped the crown from his head and pushing him backwards.
Gilgamesh summoned the gates of Babylon...trapping Zeldris in the huge heavenly chains. "No...why...all of you…" he was too shocked to even speak as he saw a portal appear in the ground.
He saw his father, manus, controlling the portal with a grimace on his face. "Forgive me...my son…" he said sadly as he forced the pressure of the void to the maximum.
Zeldris was being sucked further down the portal, grasping the earth for support as countless demon hands clawed at him. "Y-YOU BASTARDS! YOU TRAITORS! I'LL KILL YOU ALL! MARK MY WORDS!" Zeldris screamed in rage as he thrashed about.
The man's hand was the only thing left as the void swallowed him whole, leaving only his memories inside the crown of reversal.
Zeldris Blackblaze was finally defeated…
"Its finally over…" Gilgamesh breathed, fear still gripping him as he looked at the crown.
"Yes...but Zeldris will come back to us…" Esdeath said quietly, not being able to bare the look of betrayal in the eyes of her husband. "We will keep his memories stored in that crown...locked up in this palace...untouched by unworthy hands...he would kill me if I let anyone else even feel it…" she shuddered.
"And where will we send him? The most powerful world spirit in history will be found out at some point, so where?" this question came from Artorias, still feeling the effects of Seath's resurrection magic.
"Nowhere other than the human world." Gwyn was next to speak, using Seath's magic to gain an illusionary form. "I and Manus will guide him back here...and we will have our son back…" he swore, making everyone nod in agreement.
"It's settled then...we will go back to Anor Londo...and have our emperor back to his old glory…" Gilgamesh said firmly, making them all teleport out of the city…
That was the day that the demon Zeldris was killed, and in his place, an innocent boy was born in Japan…
Atop the hill, Gwyn and Zeldris stood in shock even though one of them had seen the scene before.
The meltdown and defeat of the most powerful being in existence was over in mere minutes…
"How...how could he change that quickly...and even try to kill his friend…" Zeldris suddenly asked quietly.
Gwyn looked over his shoulder to see his child staring at the spot that his past self had just been ripped from. He could see no hatred for the people that did that, only pity for his past self for acting so self-centred. "As I will explain when we return to the human realm, Abyssal magic will damage a person's mind when it is overused, and in your case, you had an emotional breakdown in Anor Londo when you seen the defiled and deformed image of your wife and friends. The abyssal magic took control of your brain during that moment of despair and vaguely influenced your decisions. You were not under complete control, but it made you heavily resemble the personality of Manus before he created you…" Zeldris gasped in shock when he heard this information. So abyssal magic was like a very dangerous drug. If you use it too much, you will lose control of yourself, only this applied emotionally.
"Furthermore; sunlight magic also affected your past self. It harms you physically if you overuse it, but every time you defeated someone, your pride and arrogance grew exponentially thanks to the sunlight magic. You became far more vulnerable to the drawbacks of abyssal magic and the arrogance and pride you built up while slaughtering thousands of innocent people made you unaware of your friend's plot to seal your memories…" Gwyn scowled into the air, glaring at the small group of immensely powerful beings that rivalled his own strength.
"There's more...isn't there…" Zeldris said quietly, trembling from the facts that Gwyn had revealed.
Gwyn wanted badly to hid this from his son, but he was so intelligent that he had seen through his secrets. "I hoped you would not say that…" he sighed regretfully. "There is also the drawback of eclipse magic...which was the one thing that made you try and kill the king of kings and your best friend Gilgamesh…" Zeldris nodded, though he dreaded the answer to his unspoken question. "Eclipse magic is magic that only you could ever cast for two reasons. First is that you are the only being capable of using both sunlight and abyssal magic, which if combined together, create the all-powerful eclipse magic," he said evenly.
"The second reason is that the energy consumption is far too great to be used by any other lifeform. Not even me and Manus would be able to cast a single spell, even though we have the highest magic power in existence behind you and Midir. But the drawback isn't that. It affects your physical body...and makes you into a monster...and that thing that you saw down there was not Zeldris Blackblaze, emperor of the ringed empire and ruler of lordran. It was a serpent...an evil monster that had completely taken over your mind, body, and soul. The only reason that plan to seal you in earth worked was that Esdeath was there…" Gwyn continued as Zeldris' eyes widened with each word.
"Each person...no matter how mentally or physically strong they are...have one person whom they cannot kill. For you; that person was Esdeath...the woman you loved and your wife. You saw her face and immediately became docile. You would have massacred every soul in the ringed city if she didn't stop you…" the lord of sunlight finished with his head hung.
The old man turned around as he felt sinister energy fill the atmosphere.
It was coming straight from Zeldris…
Black and white ribbons of pure death stared him in the eye…
"So I was just a weak-minded fool that was drunk on his own power and petty emotions…" the boy said, his tone was sharp and deadly. "How ironic...to call yourself the supreme being of the universe and then be essentially killed by yourself...it's almost comical…" he smirked, though the smile was cold and almost cruel as he looked at the palace that had once belonged to him.
"What….the hell…" Gwyn took a step back as he saw the boy stare at him, still wearing the same smirk. 'He's a mirror image...of his old self…' Gwyn was shocked to the core. "Don't say that Zeldris! You may be right...but you can change that yourself!" the man said loudly, gaining a chuckle from the child.
Zeldris looked at his father blankly. "You're still hiding something….I don't know why….but I can practically smell the deceit on you…" he smiled.
Gwyn said nothing as he followed his son's razor-sharp gaze to the crowd of people that had just defeated him. "How are they all alive….if I remember correctly...they were all massacred by Zenburo…" Zeldris glared at them with a piercing gaze and Gwyn could almost see them react to such a presence despite them all being an illusion.
The lord of sunlight hesitated before answering. "That huge dragon without the scales. He resurrected them all with his magic, but he hid that from Zeldris so that they could successfully restrain him…" Gwyn muttered.
"So that dragon has the power to raise the dead? How intriguing…" Zeldris smirked. "I wonder what magic I can find in place of that…" he said darkly, not sounding like a 6-year-old at all.
Gwyn was getting concerned about the split personality that the boy was showing, but decided not to mention it. "It is unwise to research magic outside your speciality. If you try, the primary magic you always use will be weakened, like an unholy creature like a demon or devil using divine magic. The two elements will not blend, choosing to clash instead, and unfortunately, you can only use sunlight, abyssal, and later even eclipse magic, but you may someday be able to master even reincarnation and body manipulation through Manus...but that discussion is for another day…" Gwyn said, looking over to the boy that had calmed down, choosing to become curious about the beings below.
"So then father….is there anyone capable of defeating me?" Zeldris asked curiously as he ruffled his short, flowing hair.
"As of right now? While you are without your memories, there will be very few people who can actively pose a threat to you, though you would have to be embarrassingly bad at combat to let someone damage the body that can survive one thousand times the force of a black hole. If you were to fight with good skill, which you will have after our training, only Gilgamesh, Esdeath, my four knights, the lords of cinder, the 2 dragon gods, Midir, and your allies in the ringed city…" Gwyn shared an arrogant smirk with his son, causing both of them to snicker like children.
Zeldris smiled warmly at his father. "That sounds good. I never thought of myself as a slacker...so you can bet that I will be able to beat everyone you just named!" he pumped his fist happily, making the sunlight god laugh out loud.
"Aha! I remember this exact conversation with your past self…" Gwyn smiled fondly. "You must not become arrogant...I say that disrespecting your opponent is a key thing to victory, but you never underestimate someone, no matter how weak they are. Someone as pathetic as a human could kill you if you give them the chance." the bearded male paused as he flashed an annoyed look to the boy, and he didn't miss it. "You didn't listen to this advice back then...choosing to fit into the role, convincing yourself that you were unbeatable, and you would have been if you focused in battle, but in the end...no one is unbeatable...even you son…" he said firmly.
"You're wrong dad!" Gwyn was shocked when the boy stood up again. "I was a stupid prideful fool back then...but I will change that! I won't be tainted by any of my three magic types...and I will never let anyone lay a finger on those I care about!" Zeldris shouted angrily.
Gwyn was speechless for a second before he grinned wildly. "That's it! That's what I wanted to hear from you all this time!" he praised. The two were happily conversing about the near future...until...
Suddenly…
Everything stopped…
"Oi...dad...is it just me or…"
A long silence followed before Gwyn spoke...
"Oh dear lord…"
Their surrounding vanished in a cloud of black and white smoke. The people outside the palace disappeared in an instant, leaving nothing behind…
Gwyn seemed to be reeling in fear...feeling the same energy as the day that the boy was born…
Zeldris was clutching his head, screaming in pain as he rolled around.
"GAAAAHHHH!?" he screeched in agony as his head was pulsing violently, his aura flaring on its own.
Their surrounding area changed again, but this time Gwyn didn't snap his finger…
Zeldris crawled up from the floor, his eyes bloodshot as he looked at Gwyn. "what just happened?" he barely managed to say as his head continued to hurt.
Out of literally nowhere…
They heard a voice that struck fear in them both…
"Oh, Gwyn...you poor fool...you really thought you could invade my precious memories without a price?"
They both now knew that voice all too well…
Without warning, they were both transported to an unknown location…
For a meeting with the worst possible person…
"I don't believe it…" Gwyn gasped in horror as he looked at the room they were in.
The place they were in was the throne room of the ringed cities palace. The walls were all made from an abyssal crystal that was black and purple in colour. The floor was made from magical sunlight energy that was solidified to be walkable. The windows were pure magical crystals, projecting light into the huge hall.
The throne was black and white in colour. It was huge, almost the size of a small house. It radiated eclipse energy and shone in the sunlight, but they didn't bother admiring it as they saw the person sitting casually on it.
"It can't b-be…" Gwyn couldn't even believe it…
Zeldris Blackblaze was smirking, sitting with his legs firmly planted on the ground and staring a hole through the child in the room. His crown was atop his head, shining majestically as it reacted to the presence of its true owner.
The man cleared his throat and smiled at the pair that had intruded on his memories. "I never took you for a babysitter father...have I been replaced perhaps?" he spoke in an amused tone as he watched his younger self closely.
Gwyn was frozen in place as he looked at his son. He was oozing power, but not the ghastly aura that was present at the time of his fall. "How are we here...how are you controlling us!?" he demanded as he stepped forward, only to be stopped by magical power far beyond his own.
Zeldris sat back on his throne, a bored expression on his handsome face, still not taking his deadly eyes off the body of his current self. "Isn't it obvious? The kid beside you has already figured it out...how embarrassing…" he sighed, but smirked at the completely surprised expression on his other half. "Oh come on kid! How do you think I'm reading your thoughts like a book?" the emperor asked curiously, devilishly smiling like a snake.
"Well since these are 'your' memories...it would only be expected that you would be in complete control of this place…" present Zeldris nervously stuttered as he looked down in fear.
His older form then began to laugh heartily as he slapped the armrest of his throne. "As expected of myself!" he shouted humorously. "Got it in one! Well done Zeldris!" the man continued to praise. "You may only be a pathetic child at the moment, but I am sure that you will become more powerful than even me one day…" Zeldris flashed his first pure smile that second, before concealing it.
"If I can avoid your arrogance and petty tantrums…" the child replied with a glare.
"Hmm?"
Zeldris stood his ground in the presence of his vastly superior past. "You turned into a monster because you let your emotions run wild. If you had just controlled them, you might have been able to prevent the massacre at Anor Londo, and wouldn't be trapped inside that crown…" the boy said, though countless sweat beads ran down his face, thinking he would be executed for talking to the emperor like that.
The man sat on his throne, but soon stood up and breathed heavily. His footsteps were louder and more intimidating than anything Zeldris had ever seen. The child was rooted to his spot, not daring to show any signs of distress in front of such a powerful person.
"You don't need to worry about me kid. I won't harm you whatever you do...we're family after all…" the past Zeldris said as he was now standing right in front of his present self. "I agree with you actually. I am arrogant and petty, but you're not...and that is what's important! Learn from my mistakes and follow both of your guardian's guidance. I recognise that I have failed, but you can still do this!" he shouted, gripping the boy's collar with force.
Zeldris, despite being held up 12ft in the air by the gigantic 10ft tall image of his adult self, was very inspired by his words. "And what about Midir and your friends?" he asked worriedly as he struggled in the grasp.
"Screw them for now. What's important is that you access your memories and return to my former glory. Once that is all done, you will find all of my allies flocking to you…" the older boy smiled as he dropped the child from his iron grip. "Be what I could not….be unbeatable...and be the emperor of the ringed city! Whether you like it or not, that is your destiny and you need to do this! I feel like an asshole for pinning this on a little brat like you, but that's how bad things are at the moment…" he sighed, but continued to speak.
"You live in Japan, Kuoh town right? If so, you should work on befriending the devils in that place. If I remember correctly, the Gremory girl is currently being educated there so that is a target...but remember not to reveal yourself…" Zeldris advised the kid as he sat back down on his throne, regaining his composure.
Gwyn smiled at the little conversation, but he felt like he needed to say something. "You're correct Zeldris. If any of the three factions saw that you could use Abyssal or Sunlight magic, they would deem you a threat to them and immediately try to kill you. Only the high-ranking leader class beings would know about it though, so you may use it when you're around commoners of low-class beings…" the lord of sunlight added helpfully.
"So you're not the useless father!" the emperor chucked mockingly.
"Little shit…" the old man muttered but felt a deadly glare from the throne so he shot up immediately.
The younger version of Zeldris resisted the urge to snicker as he raised his head in a more confident manner. "I think I understand the situation…" he said evenly, getting Gwyn and the older Zeldris' attention. "So I have to enrol in Kuoh academy and befriend the devils there. From then on, I need to gather information and gain a reputation. Then I can focus on restoring my memories!" the young boy finished, smirking at the two confidently.
"No one ever said you needed to befriend those filthy lower lifeforms…" the emperor muttered with a smirk as Gwyn shot him a disapproving glare.
"Don't listen to that man! You may choose whether you want to spare the devils. If you chose not to, then when your memories are restored, we will immediately launch a raid on the capital Lilith, killing all devils in sight!" the lord of cinder panicked.
The older Zeldris raised his hand, instantly making the father and son stop talking. "I'm afraid that your time here is about to end…" he sighed. "The embers of my powers allowed you passage in here, but they are fading quickly...its best that you leave before someone detects Gwyn's presence. I can guess that Sirzechs or one of the other satans will have noticed your aura in kuoh by now, seeing as the sister of Lucifer is there, so therefore, you should make preparations to enrol at Kuoh's high school immediately." the emperor concluded.
"Wait...we really have to go this soon?" the child asked sadly.
"We will be back in the future, my child…" Gwyn reassured.
The older Zeldris sent a nod of confirmation to the lord of sunlight before facing his younger self. "Don't worry Zeldris. You and I will soon be linked when you reunite with your memories. Think of me as your lost emotions, because I am counting on you to carry on my legacy...and avenge my friends!"
the man waved as a surge of black and white energy shot straight into their faces, leaving them both unconscious…
(Dream End / Kuoh Town)
It was a hot summer day in the town of Kuoh. the birds were singing loudly, causing several people to groan in annoyance as they were forced out of their slumber…
In the Kuoh mansion that everyone thought was abandoned due to there being no one living there, a young boy was waking up from a very long sleep.
Ren Tsukiyama, or now Zeldris Blackblaze shook his head as he sprawled on the floor in exhaustion. He stumbled several times in an attempt to get to his feet, but gave up and settled for staggering over to his mirror.
He saw that the yellow and purple hair was still shining on top of his head. "So it wasn't a dream then…" Ren sighed as he walked around the large room.
His house was very mundane and not very stylish, just being a mansion with basic things inside like cooking devices, TV's, and many other useful items. Because Ren had never shown interest in decoration of his temporary home, the walls and doors had remained the same plain white colour that the mansion was built in. it was by far the largest place in kuoh besides the Gremory and Shitori mansions along with the Kuoh academy that he would soon be attending.
Ren began to get curious…
He looked at his right palm that was cold to the touch. Focusing on his palm, he managed to create a small purple ball that crackled in his hand, destroying the surrounding hallway with its acid-like properties. "It really does work!" he exclaimed excitedly as he received a huge headache for no reason. "The hell…" he groaned, clutching his skull as he tried to find the source of his pain.
{what on earth are you doing Zeldris…} Gwyn's booming voice made itself known to Ren's ears as he scowled in annoyance. {oh don't make that face! You are to be the emperor of the strongest empire that has ever existed, which means that you will need to have some help along the way!} the man happily exclaimed in his mind, like some kind of stay at home dad.
Ren sighed tiredly as he destroyed the ball of energy in his hand. "I needed to practice somehow...but why contact me now instead of when I woke up?" he asked, raising a questionable eyebrow to the man who was now lodged in his brain.
{because it's time for your training!} Gwyn said in a jolly tone.
"Training? In here? Are you getting senile old man?" Ren asked as he strolled through the corridor.
Gwyn sighed. {listen child. We need you as strong as possible before you enter relations with the devil scum. The only way for that to happen is training so hard that you break your body!} the old man said in a voice that sounded far too happy for that sentence.
"Okay...what exactly are we going to be doing?" the boy asked, getting slightly worried at this point.
Gwyn thought for a moment before an imaginary light bulb popped in his head. {I will explain sunlight magic in full detail, I will ensure that you are perfectly capable of wielding those elements, I will then invite Manus over to talk about abyssal magic, then we will train you in the 10,000 spells of both sunlight and abyssal magic, after that we will explain the various mythologies in full, then we will explain the 3 weapons you have equipped, and then we will test your physical ability by the arts of running, jumping, weight lifting, magic capacity and many more…} Gwyn seemed to go on for what felt like aeons as he explained the almost torturous exercise routine he would need to follow.
After Gwyns near 2-hour explanation, it had reached mid-day, and Zeldris had only one thing to say before they were teleported to a remote location…
"Well...we're fucked…"
So that was the first chapter!
Sorry if it felt really fast paced. That was because I just wanted to get the backstory out of the way with as much information as possible.
The next chapter will be the introduction of Manus, Zeldris training his magic and body, Sirzechs meeting Ren, and the preview to his Kuoh enrollment. There will be a 11 year time skip at the end of the chapter, which will then make Ren/Zeldris 17 years old, the same age as ya boi Issei hyoudou who will also be in the story.
I won't bash Rias, Issei, or Sirzechs much in this story since its a bit overused, but that's not saying that I like the characters...especially the oppai dragon...FFFUUU-
*sigh* anyway; I hope you enjoyed the first chapter, and don't worry because they will get loads better from now. I just needed to make it really vague because the backstory could have taken around five chapters and I personally would not want to read that…
Did you ask for a power scale?
No?
Well, too bad coz I got one!
The characters classified as world spirits will basically be like the members of nazarick in overlord, which means that they are op as fuck compared to everyone else, though they are not unbeatable like Mr sasuga Ainz-sama!
1 ~ Zeldris with memories = stronger than everyone
2 ~ Midir = stronger than a dragon god
3 ~ Gwyn, Manus = dragon god level (aka Ophis & Great Red)
4 ~ Esdeath, Gilgamesh, Ren tsukiyama with training = near dragon god level
5~ Seath the Scaleless, Witch of Izalith, Gravelord Nito, ringed knights = far stronger than heavenly dragons.
6 ~ 4 knights of Gwyn, Gods of Lordran (aka darksouls bosses) = heavenly dragon level.
7 ~ silver knights, darkwraiths, lordran denizens = ultimate class devil.
