Danny knows he's good. He knows it. It's just everyone else that needs convincing.
Because somehow, every time he gets his big chance to prove himself, it goes belly up. He overlooks some detail, he gets carried away, he's too fucking stupid to stick to the script.
But Mickey gives him another chance anyway, and Danny pours everything he's got into this media mogul character. Talent, charisma, heart. The lot. And he sticks to the book. Completely to the book.
Only, as the second bullet slams into his chest, he knows. He wasn't good enough. He was never good enough.
