Hi there! I realize that this is REALLY REALLY short, but I promise the next one will be longer!
I ran down to the ocean after school. I was sick of the girls there. "Crazy Annie." That's what they all called me. Crazy Annie and the victor. Their words hurt me more than anything. "Finnick? Please, with every woman in the Captiol there for his picking, why would he like CRAZY ANNIE?" they sneered. Every day. I try to ignore them. I know that Finnick doesn't love those Capitol women. I dont know if he loves me, but he doesn't love them. I know I'll always just be little Annie Cresta, his annoying neighbor. But ever since he came back from the Games, Finnick has been different. Probably because he knows. He knows that people look at him differently. He murdered. But he came out alive. But the girls at my school now see him as "dreamy". Which is why they pick on me. I glance back, still running. The girls are all following me. I roll my eyes. They're all tripping on the sand in their Capitol-designed shoes. "FINN!" I yell, trying to get him to hear me. "FINN!" the girls behind me say, mocking me. I fight back tears and run to Finnick. "Hey Cresta", Finnick says, grinning. Then he sees my face "What's wrong?". I nod my head over to the girls, who are stil slipping on the sand. One of them figures out that her shoes are the problem. They run over to where finnick and I are standing. One of the girls, I think her name is Jessica, grabs Finnick's arm. "Sure is slippery down here" she says, in an overly giggly voice. "Annie, aren't you going to introduce us to your... friend?" I rol my eyes. "As if you don't know" I mumble. The girls aren't even listening to me anymore, they're too busy giggling over Finnick. I end up leaving, not that anyone noticed. I guess I was wrong to think that I meant anything to the great Finnick Odair. I should've known that I was just another girl to him.
