A/N: Hello fanfiction readers,This is going to be a series of short one-shots revolving around Damon's inner dispute. Deep, right? Disclaimer: Today, tomorrow, next year. Doesn't matter. I will never own The Vampire Diaries.
The Truth Comes Out
Damon opened the door to the boarding house and slumped down on the couch. He was tired. It had been a long day. Kidnapping Elena, spending time together, being attacked, killing an old girlfriend for a different old girlfriend. He was wiped. So when he finally had a moment of peace, he decided to get some rest. That was a mistake on his part. He woke to a very angry Stefan.
"If you ever touch her against her will again..."
"you'll what? Turn into Edward Cullen?" Damon snapped.
"Why is everything so simple to you, Damon? You take what you want no matter who it hurts. What is wrong with you?"
"Wrong with me? What's wrong with me? Stefan, your the one who gets everything you want, even if it hurts the people around you! You take, take and take and never give anything back unless it benefits you."
Stefan stared into Damon's bright blue eyes that were slowly dimming. Stefan couldn't say anything because he knew everything Damon had said was true. Damon turned on his heels and sauntered out the front door.

Damon went to the football fields behind the school. He didn't know exactly why he was here but he certainly needed to vent.
"Damn me." he muttered under his breath as he lay down on the grass. Why the hell would I open my big mouth? Especially in front of Stefan? He thought. After a few moments, Damon heard the faintest sound of two heartbeats making their way to the field.
"It really sucks to be you right now..." he practically whispered. He heard the couple getting closer and closer until he saw the outlines of two figures. Damon (using his vampire speed) raced over to the lovebirds and stood directly in front of them.
"Geez!" The girl yelled "Where did you come from?"
"No need to sweat the small stuff" He responded. Damon stepped closer to the boyfriend and gazed into his eyes.
"Leave, now!" he compelled. The boy blinked several times before turning and walking off.
"Now for you my sweet darling..."
"What?..." the girl said obviously confused. Damon let his face morph and stared into the girl's brown eyes. They reminded him of Elena's deep brown chocolate eyes, truthfull, and full of life. He couldn't kill this girl. Could he? He had killed girls like her before. So why couldn't he do it now? He realized he couldn't do it because he would have killed her out of guilt. Guilt that he let his brother see into him. The real him. He couln't let himself kill someone out of hatred of himself. "Walk away." Damon girl walked away without a moment of raced in front of her and snapped her neck. He couldn't kill someone out of hatred for himself, but he could kill someone out of hatred for his brother. And his brother's girl.
A/N: It was kind of a spin of the ending of The Descent (I think!) even though the beginning takes place after bloodlines...Anyways hoped you liked it! Please R&R! If you do it for me, I'll do it for you!
