Ah, Memories.
A 357 word Drabble
Sam's POV.
"I remember one late Autumn night; when the kids were all tucked in bed, Danny and I had a few hours to ourselves. It was one of those nights where you could curl up in a blanket with hot chocolate, and be at peace. And at peace we were. We shared a steaming mug of coffee, sitting by the windowsill – well, I was practically sitting on his lap – watching the wind blow the orange flicks of dead leaves away. No ghosts appeared the whole day; and for that, we were thankful.
"Thinking back…I think it was the first peaceful moment we had ever since Dani came around and announced that she eloped. Don't look at me like that – she had to tell someone. Following that, a lot happened. New ghosts came and went. Jazz got admitted to Yale. Tucker maintained the standards of being a fantastic Mayor, even with the death rush of tourists, coming from all sides of the globe just to look at us; The Phantom family.
"News reports. Interviews. Paparazzi, you get the jest. And that Autumn day, when there was absolutely nothing bothering us; I found solitude. I leaned my head against his shoulder, and was about to say something along the lines of 'Well, this is nice…' When shrieks were heard from the upstairs bedroom.
"Turns out our three year old Lilith accidently swallowed a penny – what she was doing with a penny, I have no idea; I could have sworn she was sleeping a few minutes before – and now, she was crying her eyes out, quite positive that she was about to die. I was trying to calm her, telling her that she won't die, but no avail.
"Then Danny took a penny out of his jeans pocket, and did the old magic-it-came-out-of-your-ear trick. She stopped crying, and smiled; thankful that it was finally out of her. I was starting to wonder why Lilith's shrieks didn't wake up the other little ones, when she started laughing. She giggled, snatched the penny out of my husband's hands, swallowed it, and yells 'Do it again!' 'Do it again!'...Ah, One of my most cherished memories."
Tell me what you think.
