Cooper casually leaned against the kitchen entryway, watching Blaine nervously check the oven and hustle back to the counter covered with baking utensils, bowls, and various ingredients.

"Hey, B," Cooper greeted. Blaine's head shot up, his eyes wide. A streak of flour highlighted his forehead and it looked as if some of it had gotten into Blaine's unruly hair.

"Coop!" Blaine grabbed a bowl and hurried to hand it off to his older brother. "You're just in time to help."

Cooper barely had a hold on the large bowl before Blaine was back at the counter, scanning the pile of foodstuffs. Setting the dish on the island, Cooper carefully approached his little brother.

"B? Why don't you take a break?"

Blaine huffed impatiently, casting a frantic and exasperated look at him before turning back to his preparations.

"I still have so much to do."

Blaine reached for the bowl he'd handed Cooper, but Cooper was quicker and pulled the bowl out of reach.

"Coop-."

"Burt said you've been in here all day."

The two stared at each other stubbornly, until Blaine blinked, his eyes filling with tears.

"It has to be perfect," Blaine said quietly, desperately.

Cooper sighed and stepped closer, placing his hands on his brother's shoulders.

"Kurt's not going to care about dinner."

"He made Thanksgiving so special last year," Blaine protested. "And with his flight delayed-," Blaine trailed off, his shoulders slumping. "I have no idea what I'm doing. I just wanted to make it special too."

Cooper pulled Blaine into his arms, squeezing tightly until Blaine was hugging back and sighing into his shoulder.

"Now that I've arrived, it's sure to be special," Cooper joked when they pulled apart. Blaine chuckled but turned somber again when Cooper squeezed his shoulders.

"It's going to be special, okay? It's you and Kurt."

Blaine's gaze flickered away, his head tilting down, but Cooper could see the twitch of his lips.

"And like I said, me. And Mr. Hummel, of course."

"It's Burt," Burt called out from the other room.

The two brothers laughed, banishing any more seriousness. Cooper stepped back and grabbed the bowl, looking at its contents for the first time.

"You're making pumpkin pie?" he asked, delighted.

"Of course," Blaine replied with a soft smile.

"Is this for Kurt or me?"

"Maybe it's for me," Blaine said with mock indignation. "I like pumpkin pie too."

"Well, if I'm making it, it's mine," Cooper retorted, hugging the bowl possessively.

"Then it's a good thing there's already one in the oven," Blaine sassed back without missing a beat. He slid a pie dish across the island, dough already in place.

"You were always the better boy scout," Cooper grumbled, though there was no heat behind his words. Blaine smirked and Cooper shooed him with a ladle. "Now get back to work."

"Yes, sir," Blaine shot back playfully, turning on his heel.

When Blaine started humming a moment later, Cooper joined in. Hums became song lyrics that grew louder and louder. Soon enough Burt was coming into the kitchen air guitaring, causing the brothers to dissolve into fits of laughter while Burt attempted a stern glare. And when Burt brought Kurt home later that day, dinner was waiting for them. Kurt, however, went straight to Blaine and enveloped him in an embrace. Cooper was already into his first piece of pumpkin pie when Blaine and Kurt separated, Blaine glaring at him and Kurt chastising him for eating dessert before dinner. Cooper merely laughed and finished off the slice with relish.
