"I'm sorry… Aslan. But I can not accept your Mother's ring."

It was dark and misty. But, it was always like this all the time in the Qliphoth. It matched the mood of the current situation, as the purple mist had already surrounded the two out on the Rugnica plains. The pairs of eyes haven't left each other, as amber and azure collide.

Why…?

The Man's inner voice had asked, as he clutched onto his Mother's precious ring, and the blade that she gave him to break all ties and relationships. General Aslan Frings wasn't a desperate man, but he sought this woman's hand in marriage and for her love for the rest of their life together.

But he knew all to well why they couldn't be together.

He was of Malkuth, and she was of Kimlasca.

"Jozette…"
"I must restore the Cecille's name to its former glory. That is why I can not marry into Malkuth – for my family's sake."

She replied sharply, and turned away from the Malkuth General.

"If that is all, then I shall take my leave."
"W-Wait!"

She didn't stop, until a gloved hand had grabbed her own. She rotated on her heel, her amber eyes glared up at him for stopping her. They softened a little as they met with his blue eyes.

He was… afraid… Afraid of losing her…

"Jozette… Allow me…"
"Aslan…"

Time seemed to stop all around them, as he dropped the blade and the ring onto the ground.

His free hand had gently came up, and laid it self on her cheek. The other slowly let her hand go, and wrapped itself around her shoulder. He brought her closer to him, tilting her head up as their lips meant in an unsuspected clash.

Something inside of her burned, not of fury, but of passion as they met. She didn't pull away like a part of her brain had told her too, but she… kissed him back. Her left hand pulled on his Malkuth uniform, as the latter hung limply at her side.

She would simply allow her self to indulge in this rare moment between two enemies.

For she knew she had fallen in love with a Malkuth man.

A/N: A one-shot/drabble that I came up with when I was bored…

Yes… This is what happens when Picup can't think of any thing to say in the AIM chat room, and doesn't feel like playing; TOTA, FFXII or Guitar Hero…

… So…

Happy New Year!

And until next time!
