'Twas SG-1's Night

A/N: I, Brighid, own nothing. I just like to borrow SG-1 and play with them for a while. And I love the Night Before Christmas but this isn't it, 'cus I don't own it either. I am a J/S shipper so... like it or don't, I really don't care.

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the cabin,

Not a symbiote was stirring 'cause Junior's now Tretonin.

The fishing poles were leaned by the mantle with care,

With hopes that Thor wouldn't beam them from there.

The archaeologist was nestled all drunk in his bed,

While visions of staff weapons spun in Teal'c's head.

And Sam in Jack's shirt and he in sweats,

Had just snuggled up, no sign of a threat.

When out on the pond there came such a noise,

Jack jumped up and called on the boys.

Out to the porch they stumbled quite fast,

Just in time to see the bright flash.

The night was so dark and they couldn't see,

That it wasn't a mother ship, it was only me.

Teal'c raised his brow, ever so high,

"It just can't be!" I heard them all cry.

I spied in a split second Jack's sly little wink,

Sam saw it and smiled before her stomach started to sink.

"No way this is real!" Daniel cried out loud,

Then began to rattle off Christmas's history quite proud

"Santa, St. Nick, Father Christmas, Pere Noel!"

And from the look on Jack's face something smelled quite foul.

"Do you all think he's a bad guy?"

The blonde all but did sigh.

My dear Sam, what a thing for you to say,

Why I've come here for you and your Christmas Day!"

The Jaffa spoke next, "I thought you were legend,

"Like the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, the city of Cleveland."

"Oh, SG-1 what's the matter with you?

Have you become so cynical and jaded too?

Where did your Christmas Spirit go?

Where has it run off to, I'd like to know?

Why, there are things in this world, out there and beyond,

And for all your good deeds, of your team I've grown quite fond."

I reached in my pack, their eyes upon me,

"Wait!" said Jack, couldn't he just let it be?

"How do we know this guy is for real?

I'm not so sure we're getting a true deal…

It could be a trick, or some sort of trap,

For all you know he could hit us with a zat!"

This time is was Daniel that came to my aide,

"I am sure he is real, we shouldn't be afraid."

I smiled at him, and out of my sack did I pull,

A key to a library ever so full.

To Teal'c I tossed him a brand new toy,

"A Fedora" he squeed, with oh so much joy.

"Jack and Sam, I'm afraid that you must share,

And I am only doing this because I care.

A break in the regs is my gift to you,

I talked to the president, and believe me it's true!

"Thank you" they whispered, as I climbed in my sleigh,

There was more to done before the break of day.

And I heard them all cry as I flew out of sight,

"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
