Jessi at the Psychic Booth at SMS Fair

Mallory and I were at the Stonybrook Middle School Fair. We had no clue where to go first. It was before Mallory went to boarding school :-(.

"Where the heck should we go?" Mallory said.

"I told you, I don't know," I said, annoyed. "Hey... there's Claudia, Stacey, and Kristy. HEY GUYS, WAIT UP," I shouted. Kristy, Claudia, and Stacey stopped to wait for me and Mallory.

"Have any of you seen Mary Anne?" asked Claudia.

"I saw her with Lo-gan," Mallory and I said together. We all laughed.

Suddenly we saw the cute couple. "Hello, peoples," said Mary Anne.

"Mary Anne and I went to thew coolesyt booth. It was really incredible.

Kristy was obviously dying to know which one it was. "Which one, which one?" she demanded to know.

Mary Anne giggled. "Are you sure you want to know?"

"MARY ANNE," groaned Kristy. I grinned. "I want to know myself," I said.

"A fortune telling booth," Logan said.

"A fortune telling booth?" Kristy said, looking scandalized.

"Let's all go," I said.

"Here is your fortune," Lisa Lombardi, the fortune teller said.

"You like ballet a lot, right?" Lisa said.

"I love it. It's the best!" I gushed.

"Enjoy it while you can," Lisa said.

"What do you mean," I said nervously.

"I mean you won't be in ballet for much longer," Lisa said. My mouth dropped. This was just for fun. But still, you never know...

2 years later.

"SMS! SMS! SMS is the best!" all the cheerleaders chanted. I was a cheerleader, too. My ballet teacher had recommended cheerleading to improve my jumping. Cheerleading was pretty fun.

"Okay, girls, get into groups of four." the teacher said. I joined Jennifer Armstrong, Lisa Lombardi, and Alicia Dallo.

"Now choose somebody to throw up," Mrs. Myers said.

"Lisa?" said Alicia. Alicia was the shortest, and I was the tallest. Of course, I'm pretty skinny.

"What about Jessi?" said Jennifer. "She may be tall, but she is really skinny."

"We need a challenge," Lisa groaned. I stood in he middle.

"Hands down!" Lisa, Jennifer, and Alicia clasped hands and put their fists on the floor.

"Climb on!" I stepped on their fists.

One, two, three, up!" I was lifted into the air.

"One, two, three, up!" Lisa, Alicia, and Jennifer threw me up high. I felt like I was flying. I really was flying. I started to fall. I was sure the three would catch me. I was falling, falling. I screamed when I realized that I wouldn't be caught. I put out my arms to break my fall. CRASH! I hit the fall. I felt major pain in my left elbow. And then nothing.

"I'm really sorry to say this, but Jessi's elbow is both fractured and dislocated." What were they saying? "She is going to need surgery to fix that elbow. How's Halloween to do it?"

"Fine," my mom's voice said.

My eyes snapped opened. "What happened?" I mumbled. My arm was in a sling, and hurting terribly.

"You feel cheerleading, and passed out. Your elbow is badly broken." Dad said. I gasped.

"W-will they be able to fix it?" I asked.

"Maybe," said Mom.

Anyway," the doctor continued."Jessica's arm will be in a cast for a month later. Then She'll need two years of physical therapy. What activities is she involved in besides cheerleading?" the doctor asked.

"Ballet," Mom said.

"I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Jessica may never be able to do ballet again."
