Christmas is a time you spend with people you love. A time he had always spent alone. Not because he had no one he cared for and who cared for him, just because Christmas was the time they endlessly, with no exception, broke his hearts.
But not this year.
He pulled the TARDIS blue envelope out of his pocket and smiled. She always knew where to find him, he wondered how. They once shared the same mind, the same memories, the same soul, maybe that's how...
He set the TARDIS on the 24th of December 2012 and landed in her street, carefully leaving the brakes on for her to hear.
The suburbs of London were all enlightened. Snow fell from the sky as frozen fragments of stars. Christmas carolers knocked on the doors, filling the cold night with warm melodies.
The Doctor locked the door behind him and walked down the street towards the house he was waited at.
The kitchen window lit the yard and the street in a soft and warm light. Tinsels and colorful decorations hung from the roof and above the door. Through the glass, he could see two women arguing. The blond was struggling to fit canapés on a decorated plate. Her red-haired daughter endured her bad mood, rolling her eyes and heavily sighing. She opened the oven. A black cloud of smoke exited from it and fogged the small room and, by the looks of it, the rest of the house.
The younger rushed to the window and opened it. The voices of her mother and grandfather filled the silence of the night.
The Doctor couldn't help but laugh!
"Oi! Does my misery amuse you?", she spat at the man before recognizing him.
Her face immediately lightened. A wide grin placed on her lips, she disappeared inside the house to reappear at the door and welcome her guest.
"Happy Christmas!", she smiled.
"Happy Christmas, Donna!"
Happy Christmas to every one!
