It was a quick decision, an impulse act. It seemed like he was good at that. It wasn't a trek down there, no, in fact the dungeons were closer to the palace than he care to think. But I suppose it made it just that little bit easier. He didn't know what it was that made him want to go see him, he supposed he missed that brotherly bond they had. It had been a year since he imprisoned there, and Thor didn't care to visit. It hurt him to see his brother so, vulnerable. He felt guilty for it, he hated himself for it. It was his fault he was in there, he didn't not notice the shadow he was casting over him. The dinner table seemed a little empty and silent without him there to tell tales of his days in the library. His mother seemed saddened about the fact she had no one to have extremely intelligent conversations with. His family missed him but his father had his hands tied with this one. He was king, he was the law and Loki broke every single type of bond with him the moment he felt himself above them. The guards bowed and left Thor to his own devices. Loki didn't look up when he heard someone enter the 'chambers' he was in. It broke Thor to see his brother beaten and bruised, he made a mental note to have a word with the guards. After all Loki was still royalty he should be treated as such.
"Diniah you are early. Do not tell me you are that eager to see me?" Loki asked without looking up.
"I am not, nor have I ever been Diniah, Brother." Thor said with amusement, and a hint of despair. Lokis head snapped up and looked at Thor. Thor clenched his hammer tight, his right side of his face was worst than his left. He needed to come down hard on the guards.
"What are you doing here?" Loki asked through clenched teeth.
"I am here to see you brother. What else?" Thor said coming closer to the glass cage.
"Brother." Loki scoffed. "One, I am not your brother and two, it has been a year since you saw me, why now?" Even though he heard it a thousand times before it still hurt Thor the same. Every time.
"I want my brother back Loki. And I apologies for not coming down to see you. I had to have time to think-"
"What is there to think of my prince? Do you need to assess if I am worthy enough to be in your presence?" Lokis eyes flashed a dangerous silver. "What, pray tell, is your conclusion then your highness? Am I worthy to stand in the shadow of Thor the great and powerful?"
"Stop talking like this?! You are still my brother no matter anything!" Thor roared.
"Don't you get it! I was never your brother! Not really." Loki stood up angrily and paced the cage.
"Does the years we spent together mean nothing to you." Thor asked looking at him. Loki got angry and suddenly a blue fist came down on the glass cage. Loki was stood there in his ice giant glory, his eyes were an angry red. The look of him made Thor step back.
"Look at me? Do I look like your kin? No! I am not and I never will be." Loki shouted, he calmed down and then slumped down on the bed he had been given.
"Just because you don't look like kin doesn't mean you are not. All that matters is in here." Thor said pointing to his heart. "You are still very much my brother, just as you are our parents son." At the mention of his mother Loki looked up.
"Tell, mother, that I miss her. And I'm sorry." Loki said. Thor nodded and was about to leave when Loki shouted him back.
"I'm sorry to you brother." Loki said finally, making Thor beam.
"All was forgiven a long time ago." He said bowing to the former Prince of Asgard and leaving lighter hearted then when he walked in.
