Okay, this is a Christmas present story for anyone who likes Keeper of the Lost Cities. It's a short two-shot about Marella from her point of view. I hope you like it! Disclaimer: I do not own Keeper of the Lost Cities.

when they left me,

there was no one else for me to be with

at all in or out of

school.

sure, there were the drooly boys

that he sat with before she came along,

but they only know how to drool and gel their slicked-back

hair.

and stina? don't even get me started on her. she was

cruel

before she came along, now she's just

nasty.

there were others i could sit with, but they already had

their groups to be with.

and who am i

to interrupt them and time with their friends?

there is nowhere to run,

nowhere to hide,

no empty tables,

and i'll have to sit with someone, be their

friend,

but they won't want me there.

so i pick the one person who would never want

anyone else sitting with them:

stina.

and she, of all people,

smiles at me.

maybe i'll be better off

without

as many memories of when they left me,

and with

new memories of stina, maruca, and me.

Let me just say that the no capitalization thing was intentional. This is dedicated to WiseGirlGeek, for always supporting me ever since I first started FanFiction. Thank you, D.
