A truly lucky life

Prologue

We find ourselves following a young man who by a series of unfortunate events is moving back in with his parents.

For now we will be concentrating on the here and now rather than the then and there, but be assured that part will come.

As we search for the young man we find him in a car driving down a dusty old highway in the middle of nowhere miles away from any town with its two occupants. The older male in the front seat is concentrating on his driving while the man sitting behind him is staring aimlessly out the window.

"Long ways drive ain't it son?" asks the cab driver looking at the young man in the backseat through his rearview mirror. Lifting up his head from the window he acknowledges the driver and once again lays it against the window "It sure is."

Hours of silence pass as the cab drove on towards its destination, Middleton. A once quite town now a bustling metropolis.

"Here we are" says the driver leaning over his seat.

"Yeah home sweet home" Within minutes the man is standing on the sidewalk outside a small home with a pair of suitcases. As soon as the cab pulls of a few drops of rain fall down from the sky and hit the pavement, and in seconds they are joined by thousands of their brethren.

The young man lifts up his left hand and wipes a few wet strands of his unruly blond hair out of his face, his shoulders slump forward and he breathes out a heavy sigh.

"This truly tanks."

Yes Ron Stoppable your life does truly tank.
