I was racing through the woods when I first noticed her. I smelt the trail which she had left, and I quickly changed path. She was running to the beach.

She stood there, sparkling on the shore, looking out.

"Hey, I don't think I know you. What's your name?"

"Emela." She answered, while turning round. "Hmm… your eyes are gold."

It was then I saw her eyes. A bright turquoise-blue. "You must have some pretty good contacts." I said to her.

"No." She said, diving into the water. I soon followed.

She went slowly, so I could keep up easily. We came up on a small island, surrounded by boulders. No wonder it had become dark on the way through.

"What do you hunt?" She asked me, as we sat on her island.

"Animals – we call ourselves 'vegetarians', because we don't drink from humans." She gave a small 'hmph', and then spoke up herself.

"Well, I'm on a seafood diet."

"I'm guessing that this is not the 'see food, eat it' joke."

"No."

"Is that why your eyes are blue? Is it because some sea creature's blood is blue?"

"Correct. Would you like to come and see?" I nodded and we dived into the water.

We kept on going deeper and deeper down, far beyond what a human could go to. Soon, we found strange sea-creatures, and fed on them. Some were shark-like, others like fish-tank fish, and some were just… weird. That included octopus and squid. We soon headed back up, though. We headed back to the mainland.

She had to leave, even though I invited her to come back with me. She did say that she may come back another time, though. I peeked into the water, to see if my eyes had changed.

They were green.

I wondered if the coven would notice?
