"Ne, ne, Yuu~?"

A navy-haired Japanese boy winced at the sound of his name, a frown marring his once calm features. It was more or less brought upon by whom called out to him, rather as to why.

"…"

"There you are!" Alma happily pointed out, making a swift dash towards his self-proclaimed friend.

Onyx orbs dulled whilst thin eyebrows narrowed as the antagonistic youth glared at him.

"Look what Twi-san gave me —!" He had begun to cheer enthusiastically.

That is, until the other boy interceded, wearing a look of incredulity.

"— A time-keeper?" He inquired, dubious.

Alma grinned joyfully, nonetheless, as he turned it upside-down; such as he was told by the Branch Head to make the glass container of minuscule sand work.

"They call it an "hourglass", Yuu! Isn't it fascinating~?" He cooed, a dazed look upon him.

The navy-haired boy was ready to snap at him out of irritation, as he always had, until he noticed the gleeful expression his eyes reflected. Incapable of bringing himself to take away that moment of happiness from Alma, much like he usually did, he simply blushed as he looked away, nodding his head in agreement.

The supposed older boy grinned, taking a seat alongside the meditating Yuu as he tinkered and toyed about with his new toy.

Little had Kanda known the paradox the outdated watch would withhold on him thereafter….
