A/N:- Tiny little thing that I came up with. Post Descent.
Disclaimer:- I don't own.
All Deeks can see is darkness. Around him, there are shouts, bangs, crashes, and the unmistakable sound of gunfire.
Suddenly, there's silence. He strains his ears, seeking something, anything, to let him know what's going on around him. Then, finally, he hears the sound of squeaking shoes on the cold, hard floor. Coming closer.
He tenses, expecting the pain to return, knowing that he can't hold on much longer, knowing that he's rapidly approaching the point where he'll give in.
Then the hood is ripped from his face, bright light stinging his eyes. There's a figure before him, a distorted shape, and he jerks back automatically, like an injured dog. He can hear sounds again now, but warped, as if coming from under water. It's a voice, some part of him knows, saying one word, over and over again, urgently, desperately. Almost pleading.
Slowly, the figure focuses, slipping fully into his vision. And he sees her. Dark hair, pulled back tight to her skull, just the way he remembers it. Mismatched eyes, damp with tears of relief. She's a Goddess, the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.
From somewhere, he manages to drag a lopsided grin to his mouth, ignoring the pain there. "I knew you'd get me back" he says.
