He could not sleep. Against all odds his eyes remained open, his fingers gently slipping over the soft fur pelts that surrounded him. The texture was familiar, filled him with a nostalgic feeling. He could name all the species that this various hides had belonged to. His mind was occupied for a moment with the question if the owner of this house had hunted these animals himself or simply brought it.
Hok'ee moved his head up slightly, the blond curls surrounding his face seemed to be even wilder than usual. He marvelled for a moment about the simple fact that this was the first night he had ever spent in a house. Because of his origin, he could not fully grasp why a wooden building like this was really needed. A cave or a tent made of animal hides were just as good for sleeping.
He knew that his travel companions had looked at him with amused eyes, Pandora had even given a smile and told him that his innocence was rather adorable. There had not been a trace of mocking in her lines neither in the voices of the dunmer that owned the house when he had started explaining about his property.
Said man was laying on the other side of the, to him, enormous bed. His white hair was slipping down the pillow, like a form of waterfall around the dark skin. There was a captivating peaceful aura around this man that seemed more like a cryptic text to the foresworn. The only thing he knew was that they owed him great thanks for helping them rescue their imperial companion.
Feeling how his arm started to grow tired, he once more snuggle down onto the wonderful fur blanket. He twisted some of the hair between his fingers, trying not to occupy his mind with too many thoughts. Though it was more than hard.
He had only left his tribe for a short moment at least that had been the plan. They needed help and he had been sent to this one person that they had all decided they could trust. But the more time he had spent with these people, this brutish nord and the sweet and bubbly imperial, the more he had started to have doubts about returning for good.
It was not that he doubted his beliefs neither that he did not care for his kinsmen. But he had always been an outcast and would be for the rest of his life there, not hated but not welcomed. And out here he had been somewhat welcomed. Perhaps it was just these few people or because they were all little misfit adventurers. He did not care. He felt something close to being at home.
His eyes moved over towards the newest addition to their group. At least he was fairly certain that the dunmer would join them. Though he did his best of putting up a professional façade it was rather obvious that he had started to melt up towards them.
As he started to feel his eyelids growing a little heavier, the man on the other side of the bed gave a small grunt and rolled over onto his side, lazily opening his red eyes for just a moment.
"Why aren't you sleeping?" he then said, his voice reviling just how exhausted he was.
"I guess I'm on my way" Hok'ee answered in a murmur.
"Good… that's good."
He felt how the dunmer reached out, grabbing a hold of the thick blanket that covered them both and tugged it up slightly, perhaps in some sort of attempt at making the foresworn comfortable but it seemed like the white haired man slipped back into sleep before he could even finish this gesture.
This mere fact caused a huge smile to spread over the blonde's lips as he cuddled his head in closer towards the bedding and closed his eyes.
