I actually wrote this while I was watching last year's Superbowl! Please note that I completed it before the end of the game so there is a mistake (oops!)
I also don't know much about football so please don't hate if there are mistakes with plays and such
Disclaimer - I do not own any of the characters/players/teams mentioned in this fic!
Jack could hear the noise coming from the briefing room but he refused to believe that someone would do that. He poked his head into the room and saw that Sam was sitting on a chair at the end of the table. She had her feet on the table and a beer in hand, with the rest of the six pack on the table. He stood quietly and watched her as she cheered and swore at the screen.
"COME ON!" the blonde yelled as the Giants scored a touchdown. "Fucking thing!"
"Pats fan?" Jack said. The blonde jumped in her chair and flew to her feet.
"Colonel, I was just, um…" Sam mumbled trying to cover what she was doing.
"Don't worry Carter, I was just headed home to watch the game but why are you watching here?"
"My TV broke and it was quite easy to set up to watch the game here and I knew most of the staff would be away anyways."
"I see." Jack nodded with both hands in his pocket.
"I'll clean up and go home." The blonde blushed.
"No, in fact I was going to join you, can I have a beer?" He pointed to the six pack. Sam smiled and handed Jack a beer as she sat down again.
"Tell you what Carter." Jack said at the end of the second quarter. "If the Pats win, I'll take you to dinner."
"Sir, I thought we weren't supposed to…"
"I can take a friend out to dinner, there's no rule against that."
"Right." Sam smiled, "Okay then, if the Pats win you take me to dinner. What if the Giants win?"
"Ah, well if that happens, you have to cook me dinner."
"Sir, I can't really cook."
"Not my problem." Jack shrugged. Sam looked at him for a minute and then nodded.
"Okay then, deal." She shook his hand and turned her attention to the TV again. Jack couldn't help but think Sam was all too lovable as she yelled at the screen as if the players would hear her. He hadn't told her that he too was a Patriots fan because it was too much fun to bet against her.
By the end of the fourth quarter, Sam was at the edge of her seat and yelling at the screen even more. All of a sudden, she jumped to her feet and stared at the screen as the Patriots quarter back was running towards the end of the field.
"Oh, oh, come on! Come on! Come on! YES! YES!" the blonde cheered, throwing her arms in the air as the player scored a touchdown, giving the patriots a commanding lead.
"Sit down." Jack pretended to be irritated. He smiled as Sam sat at the edge of her seat, watching the timer go down. She jumped up again, throwing her arms in the air as the buzzer indicated the end of the game and a Patriots win.
"YES! YES!" She cheered. Jack stood up and put a hand out to shake Sam's in defeat. To his surprise, she jumped into his arms and kissed him. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tight. When they let go, Sam took a step back and looked at Jack. Her eyes went wide as she realized what she had just done.
"Oh my God! Sir, I am so sorry, I wasn't thinking, I was just so excited…"
"Don't worry about it." Jack smirked. "I guess I owe you dinner now."
"I guess you do." Sam smiled smugly.
"I'll leave you to clean this." Jack pointed to the beer bottles and chips crumbs on the floor. "and I will see you tomorrow to make a date since I owe you dinner." He nodded before walking out of the room. Sam looked around the room and realized that she really had won today. She would get to have dinner with Jack and she couldn't wait for it. Sam sighed as her eyes fell on the dirty floor. She groaned and got to cleaning up.
If you liked it, lemme know!
I rated it a T for the one swear word...just to be safe!
