The List
Author: MacbethHamlet
Summary: Hermione makes a list of reasons not to like George Weasley. Just trying a
new ship to get away from Draco/Hermione for once.
Disclaimer: I own nothing. Just the plot.
Hermione set her quill on the table and looked at the parchment in front of her. She had just finished her last essay and her last bit of Christmas homework. It was on the first day of holidays and she had been determined to get it out of the way. She glanced around the room and spotted a certain person. His tall, muscular figure stood out from those around him. Hermione pulled out a fresh parchment and began to write:
Reasons why I should NOT fall for George Weasley:
He's a shameless flirt
He's Ron's brother
Alicia obviously likes him
He's two years older than me
Lee has a crush on me and I don't want to botch their friendship
Fred would be jealous (ha ha)
Hermione laughed at #6 on her list. She began to pack up her stuff and walked across the room to where Ron and Harry were playing wizard's chess.
"Who's winning?" she asked.
"That's a stupid question," Harry sighed, "You know I can't beat Ron, Hermione," Hermione giggled and sat down beside Ron for a bit, but soon became tired and went to bed.
The next day went rather slow and with little event. Around nine o'clock that night, Hermione joined Harry, Ron and some others around the fireplace.
"Oh! I have an idea!" Fred jumped up, "We could play truth or dare,"
Almost everyone agreed at once, so they pushed back the sofas and sat in a large circle. Since Fred picked the game, he went first, but not without handing everyone a small vile.
"It's a truth potion," he said, "Drink up," They all did so, though rather tentatively. Fred sat down at his seat and drank a vile himself. He smiled mischievously.
"Harry," he said, "Truth or dare?"
"Dare, I guess," said Harry.
"I dare you, Harry Potter, the boy who lived," Fred laughed, "to wear these," he pulled out a pair of green boxers. They had little snitches all over them.
"Okay," Harry said.
"Only these," Fred smiled. Harry flushed and took the boxers up to his dormitory. He came back out and everyone burst into laughter. He posed for a moment and took his seat, turning towards George.
"Truth or Dare?" he asked he asked slyly.
"Um. Truth," George said bravely. Harry thought for a moment.
"Where you the one that tripped me yesterday?" he asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Yes," George smiled, "And it felt damn good, too," The whole group laughed. George turned to Hermione.
"Truth or Dare," he asked, smiling still.
"Truth," Hermione smiled back. George rubbed his chin and smiled a haunting smile. He pulled a piece of parchment from his pocket and handed it to Hermione. It was her list.
"This yours?" he smiled. Hermione nodded and turned pink. Everyone began to laugh. Hermione turned and ran to the girls' dormitories. She lay on her bed and buried her face in her pillow. How could she have been so careless? Where had he found it? He wouldn't have gone through her books, would he?
Just then, Hermione heard a knock on her door.
"Mione?" a voice asked. It was George. He slowly opened the door and slipped inside, "Hermione, I'm sorry if I embarrassed you,"
"No you're not," Hermione lifted her head from the pillow.
"I'm still on the truth potion, remember?" George smiled. Hermione didn't smile back. George frowned and pulled a slip of parchment from his pocket and handed it to Hermione. She unfolded it and smiled when she saw what it said.
Reasons why you SHOULD fall for George Weasley
I flirt when I like.
Ron has been betting on when I'd ask you out.
Alicia is like a sister to me.
Lee is included in #2.
I'm falling in love with you.
