Fatherly Instincts
Chrom: Hey Robin got a minute?
Robin: Sure Chrom, I can spare a minute what wrong?
Chrom: I think…my worst fears have come true.
Robin: You can't possibly mea-
Chrom: My daughter has a boyfriend!
Robin: I was going to say Gangrel rising from the grave but this could also count as a crisis.
Chrom: I just don't understand; how could this have happened.
Robin: Well, Lucina isn't a child anymore s-
Chrom: Wait. What made you think I was talking about Lucina?
Robin: Um, Cynthia and Yarne haven't been subtle so I just assumed-
Chrom: Wait…you knew?!
Robin: Umm…
Chrom: I see…not only did my own daughter not trust me but also my best tactician and friend!
Robin: She was probably just scared for Yarne's sake I mean when it comes to your daughters you kind of get over protective.
Chrom: I do not!
Robin: Really? Remember what happened when you saw that young man talking to Lucina and just assumed he was asking her for hand.
Chrom: He was tying his shoes so it looked like he was proposing and if I recall you were also worried about her.
Robin: Okay, I'll admit my reaction didn't help but pointing Falchion at him and swearing to all the gods that his body will never be found was a tad extreme.
Chrom: …
Robin: …
Chrom: You're right they're not children but at the same time I can't ignore these instincts I have.
Robin: It's only natural that as a father you want what best for them and want to protect them but you need to give them space to make their own choices.
Chrom: Thanks for the talk I can always turn to you when a crisis arises.
Robin: I wouldn't be a good friend if I couldn't solve the occasional family crisis.
Chrom: Great! I'll see you at the dining hall then.
Robin: See you there. (Oh gods, how the hell am I going to tell him about me and Lucina?!)
