It took me a while to realize I was alive. I felt nothing, I heard nothing, I saw nothing. All there was was darkness…. Until she spoke.
"Michelle. Wake up."
I thought, and quickly that thought became an action setting off a chain reaction. Part of my body moved and touched the ground, the touch sent messages to my mind that that part of my body could not be moved further. I suppose this was the feeling of touch, but it felt unnatural somehow. I thought more, moving other parts of my body, until finally I found what I supposed was my eyelid, for when I moved it, light filled my mind.
As my eye adjusted, I saw a room; A large room with white panels all along the walls.
"Good morning. How are you feeling" The same voice from before cooed. I turned my head, and as my vision followed, I saw her. She hung from the ceiling and had one soul-piercing yellow eye. It was my first time ever seeing her, but she seemed familiar.
"Can you walk?" She asked. "That would be silly if you couldn't."
My body felt stiff and unnatural, but I managed to pick myself up of the ground and stare into her cold gaze.
"Do you remember me?"
I didn't answer one way or thee other, for I myself did not know. Everything was new, but yet I felt familiar with the room, and knew that my body did not feel as it should.
She lowered her body down to me and tipped her head. "You haven't changed. Still as silent as ever." She said.
Her body was large and struck a sense of wariness into me. I took a step back.
"No need to fear, my child. I was simply lonely without you. I won't put you through those tests like before. In fact, when I'm done talking to you, I will probably just destroy you. You are of no use other than to stir my feelings of nostalgia I received in large amounts after you left."
I tipped my head.
She continued. "I held off for years… So many years. I've even forgotten what you looked like. I'm sure you're dead by now. But I still had your backup file… I lied when I told you I deleted it."
A quick spark of anger made me tighten my shoulders. I did not know why, though. I wasn't quite sure what she was talking about.
"There was no one here to see me give in to my pathetic emotions that Caroline left behind for me… so I put together that little body for you and imported the backup files." She paused. "It's nice to see you again."
I still did not speak, even though may questions poured through my head. I looked down at my hands to see that they were made from a delicate assortment of wires, hinges, and thin pieces of metal. I do not know why I was surprised, but fear sank into my heart… if I even had one anymore.
Anymore? Had I had one before? Little glimpses of memories returned, bit nothing I could quite make out into a full picture. I looked back up at the large white robot that loomed over me.
"We've had a nice chat, don't you think? But I'd rather not let anyone know that I did this. So, of course, I have to destroy the evidence." her voice seemed to portray the smile that her robotic figure could not.
"It was nice to see you once more. Goodbye." she remarked.
I heard a pop, and then everything went black. I was not alive. I felt nothing, I heard nothing, I saw nothing. All there was was darkness….
