It was the first time Lovino had fallen in love. It was the first time he had ever really /liked/ someone. But he knew that this was real...These feelings. His heart was constantly racing whenever he was around this person.
Lovino had been staring at himself in the mirror for hours on end, handing himself an imaginary bouquet of roses; they would have to be hand picked, though, because Lovino couldn't afford something stupid like that.
The romantic little Italian gave a small smile to his reflection, immediately dropping it as soon as he realized what he was doing.
Yeah, he had fallen for Toni, but that didn't necessarily mean he was going to do anything about it. Besides, Toni would have a million other secret admirers giving him flowers and chocolate for Valentines Day. So.. Lovino would just be giving him one extra bouquet that would die. At least he wouldn't have a box of stupid chocolates...
With a grunt, he hurried down the stairs of his house, outside into the field of dying flowers. His life just couldn't be easy.
Sifting through the bed of flowers, Lovino carefully picked out the "pretty" looking ones, holding them tightly in the palm of his hand.
Once he collected nine or ten of them, Lovi strolled down the street, a soft sigh escaping his lips as he brushed down his messy locks, groaning softly.
What would Antonio think?
Lovino knew. He would think the Italian had gone soft.
The thought of tossing the ugly flowers down did cross his mind, but Lovi had to face his fear.
Unfortunately, Lovino was stopped short when the site of a young girl caught his eye. She was giving a large yellow sunflower to his Antonio.
Er...To Antonio.
Glowering, Lovino watched Toni smile and accept the flower, kissing the girl on her cheek before closing the door.
The girl was all too cheerful as she skipped away and Lovi unhappily approached the front door, throwing the flowers to the ground as he huffed. Toni didn't want his stupid hand-picked flowers. Why was he even trying? Why did he want Toni's affection so badly? He didn't!
Spinning around on his heel, Lovino took a couple of steps before he heard the door behind him click open, and a familiar accent called his name. Lovino couldn't hold back a little groan that bubbled up and escaped his lips once again. Of course he couldn't get away fast enough.
The Spaniard stepped closer to the Italian, a wide grin on his face as he held up the crushed flowers, which had petals missing on most of them.
"Lovi...Were these from you, amigo?" He asked, petting the remaining petals with his fingers.
There was a frown evident on the smaller boy's face. He didn't know what to say to him...
Lovino wished that he had walked away faster!
"Mi amor," Antonio cooed, shaking the flowers under his nose, "Why didn't you knock, idiota?"
Lovino rolled his eyes and batted the flowers out of his hand, causing the Spaniard to lose the smile, his eyes dropping to the cement in confusion, "You don't have to be so rough, amigo."
And then the guilt hit him. He felt this weird feeling rush through his body...But why? Lovino grunted as he leaned over, picking up the half-dead flowers before he blew them off, thrusting them out towards Toni's chest.
A smile swarmed the boy's face as he shoved the Italian's hand out of the way, grabbing a fistful of his shirt before pulling him in for a rough kiss. It was a chaste kiss; a sweet and tasteful one.
Pulling back slightly, Lovi blinked a couple of times, watching Toni send his tongue across his bottom lip.
"Smile, si? Today is going to be good."
Grabbing the Italian's soft hands, he pulled him into the house, shutting the door behind them. Toni would show his appreciation of the flowers one way or another!
