A/N: I found this written on the back of an old notebook and it made me smile so much. I'd wrote it so long ago I'd forgotten the mere thought of it. If I ever find any more they will be posted here; I find the title very fitting for S/r.
S/R
He couldn't recall when or where he had first heard the human proverb. It could have been decades ago, heard from the lips of a stranger in passing or perhaps he'd read it somewhere recent. He didn't know it's origin but Sesshomaru did know it's truth.
It could be applied to far and few things in his life but if there was one certainty, it was that it did and always would apply to her.
Even when her youth had faded and her shine had turned to dim dust. Even when her voice grew hoarse and her hair greyed. Even when her body bared her many years, when her back sloped and her knees weakened, when the new youth of the world called to her for stories and tales they thought make-believe.
She always held his attention throughout the years; her laugh, her smile, her very breath until the awaiting end.
