The Day After

Disclaimer: I do not own Fatal Frame 2.
Mio opened her bleary, red-rimmed eyes. It was a beautiful, sunny day, quite the opposite of her mood.
The bed across from hers was empty. So it was last night. So it will be for the remainder of time.
Mio looked down at her hands. Hands that closed around her sister's neck, squeezed…and took her life.
Mio clenched her fists. She could feel the fingernails digging into her skin. This pain was nothing compared to the pain in her heart. Her own sister! She killed her own sister! How could be she so horrid?
Tears dripped down Mio's face. She wanted nothing more than to pull the covers over her head and not exist. What was there left in the world but prosecution and insanity?
She could feel it on her neck. The mark of the butterfly. Her hair was steadily turning white, the sign of the Remaining.
Remaining. What an appropriate name. The world goes on, and here she remains, unable to move on.
She dressed and walked for the newly made lake, to wait for her sister.
Even if it takes to the end of time.
