Disclaimer: Tolkien owns the Lord of the Rings, these are my thoughts, musings and takes on The Lord of the Rings.
Chapter 1: Just kick him in dammit
"Cast it into the fire!" Elrond yelled to Isildur. Isildur turned from the boiling lava below,
"No the ring is mine, my precious!" Isildur said with a slightly insane look. Elrond inwardly sighed. He should've seen this coming.
Stupid mortals, don't know what's good for them. He inwardly groaned.
Isildur made for the exist of Mount Doom, before he could step out he felt two arms grab him from behind. Before he realized what was happening he was hurtling down Mount Doom towards the lava, ring and all.
Elrond gave a satisfied smile to himself as he existed mount Doom minus Isildur.
Meanwhile in Lothlorien...
Galadriel sat back from her mirror with a satisfied smirk. Lately she'd been seeing disturbing images in her mirror. Including but not limited to:
The Ring of power being saved by the grimy hands of a mortal, her daughter being attacked by orcs, her grandaughter marrying a mortal and many elves leaving Middle Earth.
Galadriel was relieved that Elrond had chosen to throw the mortal into Mount Doom, she has been afraid his sense of mercy would keep him from killing the mortal and destroying the Ring.
By choosing to throw the life of One mortal away he had saved millions and himself much grief and pain.
A/N: I always wondered why Elrond didn't kick Isildur in, whenever I watch that part I always silently chant to myself: "just kick him in dammit!"
I mean it makes so much sense. Elrond is saving himself from future pains big time. Here's al list of reasons why:
1. His wife wouldn't have been attacked by orcs, saving both of them much grief and time.
2. With Isildur dead Aragorn would never exist, so Arwen would never choose to become like a mortal.
3. It saves millions of Elves, Hobbits, Men and dwarves everywhere countless pain and lives.
4. It's just common sense.
The only problem I see is the dwarves probably would've died taking back Erebor because Bilbo wouldn't have the ring of power to save them. Otherwise everyone else in Middle Earth would be happy and dark lord free.
Thanks for reading! I hope to do more but I will see what my brain comes up with... Until then please tell me your thoughts or similar Middle Earth moments.
Thanks again! Until next time.
