I'm finally writing about this pairing... A very strange one but there's something that make me like them LoL... Let me know what you think^^
For Ever
Minerva McGonagall was walking absently along Hogearts corridor, bound for her classroom. Various thoughts crossed over her mind: Severus Snape was changed, she wasn't sure anymore to trust him and Albus was seemed absent and distant that she couldn't find what he was hiding from her. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't notice to have hit something, indeed someone and because of the impact, now all the book she was taking in her hands were laying on the floor. She looked up to see who was the responsible for that disaster, hoping to find some Slytherins who take some point to, but finding instead the face of the potion master.
"Horace, I'm sorry, I didn't see you…" she exclaimed.
"Oh don't worry Minerva… It's my fault!" he replied, collecting all her books with the help of the wand.
"Do you need them for your lesson?" he asked, living her the books.
She took them and in that act their hands touched. Who knew why, but both of them felt a shiver. In fact Horace had to admit that a nearness to the witch had become desired as much as awkward. Seeing her after all that time that he had been away from Hogwarts, had been a unexplainable emotion.
"Yes!" she answered "What time do you have your first one?" added then, feeling the strange will to continue the conversation.
"In twenty minutes" he answered raising a smile "And you?"
"Me too"
"Can I ask you something Minerva?" he asked again getting suddeny serious "Do you think Severus is hiding something?"
"So, I'm not the only one!" she exclaimed a bit ironically "He behaves strange… I mean stranger than what he's used to"
"In my opinion, he's definitely hiding something" repeated Slughorn looking at the witch in front of him.
She looked at him too and their eyes met. Both of them had green eyes, but of different shade. Horace's eyes were more pale, while Minerva's more bright.
"Horace I don't know who trust anymore!" she exclaimed breaking for just a moment the eye contact "Albus is so shifty… But promise me I can always count on you!" added looking again at him.
"Of course Minerva… You can always count on me… Always!" he said, leaving behind everything that could have divided them before, getting lost again in that look.
That same day Albus Dumbledore would have died, that same day Horace Slughorn entered Minerva McGonagall's life and was going to be there… for ever.
