They sat at their regular seats in the Lima Bean talking about the coming school year.
"Please just come back to McKinley", Rachel begged for what seemed like the hundredth time, "I don't want to spend my senior year with you at another school. Espeically when I could move to New York in a couple months."
Blaine rolled his eyes. His sister had been a nag about him returning to McKinley since the summer started, "I don't like it there Rachel you know that. I don't feel safe there and none of my friends are there."
"You will make friends Blaine! And you will be safe I promise!"
Blaine's ears perked up a little at the mention of Kurt, but he tried not to make it noticeable, "You can't make a promise like that Rachel." He sighed at the exasperated look on his sister's face, I'll think about it." The little bells over the door chimed, signaling the arrival of a new customer. Out of habit both Rachel and Blaine turned to see who it was. Living in Lima meant that there was a 87% chance that they knew whoever showed up. Kurt Hummel and Finn Hudson walked in and Rachel leapt out of her chair to greet them while Blaine hung back, unsure of what to do. The three walked back to the table where Blaine sat and took seats around him. He kind of felt like he was part of an intervention.
"So Blaine I hear you may not return to McKinley this year?" Finn asked not wasting any time, "I thought Dalton was going to be a temporary thing. You know, until Karofsky graduated?"
Blaine rolled his eyes again. Finn was Rachel's boyfriend so naturally he would want him to return. If anything just to get Rachel to shut up about him staying at Dalton. "I don't know what I'm doing. I love Dalton." Kurt took a sip of his coffee eyeing Blaine suspiciously. Blaine felt his face flush. He didn't know why it was just what Kurt had a habit of doing to him.
"But just think! It could be our last year together and I just want you to be a part of it!" Rachel repeated once again.
"Rachel! I know. Okay? I know. Just stop it."
"But-"
"Forget it. I'll be in the car". Blaine grabbed his coffee and stormed out of the coffee shop. He was done with pleasing people. He needed to do what he wanted to do and what he wanted to do was stay at Dalton. He heard the door chime behind him, but he didn't care enough to look back.
"Blaine wait!" He stopped dead in his tracks. He knew that voice and he would do whatever it told him to do. Turning around, he saw Kurt running out the door towards him. It was always a comical sight, watching Kurt run, because what he wore never accommodated physical activity.
"What Kurt?" He asked
"I just wanted to let you know that if the reason you're not going back to McKinley is that you're scared you'll be the only out kid there, that you won't be."
Blaine raised an eyebrow at him, "Meaning?"
"I'm transferring back to McKinley"
