Shattered
This is just a short one shot that came to me after I watched the last episode. I'm a huge Summer/Sasha fan and am begging for the episode when he bursts into her wedding and shouts 'I object!'. I know, deep down I'm a hopeless romantic. Anyway, here's the fic.
Sasha Belov was a skeptic; there was no doubt about it. He didn't believe in being lucky, he didn't believe in one superior being and most of all he didn't believe in love at first sight. Until he met Summer. When they had first met he felt it, this undeniable pang in his chest; and for the life of him he couldn't find out why. She was an annoying, peppy secretary who was dating Steve Tanner, why should he have any feelings what- so- ever for this blond woman. Then he got to know her better and he learned just how much she believed in God and held to her eighteenth century beliefs about sex and marriage. It was then that he felt another pang, not as strong as the first, but it was there. Then there was their first kiss, an impromptu moment of passion born from fighting over self- control. When she turned away from him with that last comment he felt yet another pang.
Then they started dating and everything was fine; there were no more painful protests from his heart. Everything was good and he started to realize that he was changing. He thought of himself as lucky that he had found Summer and though he still didn't believe in love at first sight, maybe he did believe in love at second sight. He still didn't believe in God, but he found himself listening to Summer when she talked about him. Then everything happened and he had to leave; and the entire time in Denver and Romania, there was always this pang in his chest.
When he came back he had a longing deep down in his soul that Summer would look at him with those loving eyes the way she used to, but all he saw in them was hurt. Another pang. Then she started to date Steve again. Another pang. Every time he saw them together, holding hands, whispering, just looking at each other. Every time another pang. So he consumed himself in his work and his girls.
Then she told him. She ripped the hope he had away and stomped on it with the heels he had so loved to hear coming up the stairs to meet him. She told him that she was getting married and there was no longer a pang. He turned away and felt a wrenching and fiery explosion consume him. It was like every fall he had ever taken in gymnastics coupled with a stick of dynamite thrown in for good measure. He heard her heels walk out the door and he turned back to his exercises.
Sasha Belov's heart shattered and he realized that Summer Van Horn had always been breaking his heart. From the very moment they first met. But now it had shattered into a million pieces and he was left alone to pick up the pieces.
I hope that you liked it! Reviews are love! Anyway, if you are reading one of my other fanfics I'm am so sorry I haven't updated; life kinda got away from me for a while. I promise that I will work on them as soon as my AP test is over tomorrow. And now it's almost 11pm so, SLEEP!
