The battle had just ended. The villain had been defeated and the town was saved.

The area where the battle took place was utterly silent now. Little bits of smoke emanated from dark spots on the ground where lasers had been shot and also from the remains of the villain's giant robot that Captain Underpants himself destroyed.

Nearby those remains stood Jerome Horwitz Elementary School where Captain Underpants' former alter ego Mr. Krupp is principal.

Krupp had been thrown into the wall of the building at some point during the battle, knocking him out cold instantly. He stayed like that for the rest of the battle, and even afterwards.

Until now.

He opened his eyes, blinking a lot as he waited for his vision to unblur. Once it did, he sat up; rubbing his head; groaning as he did so. He looked around at the battlefield and instantly remembered what happened, and how he was thrown against the wall.

And that Captain Underpants did most of the fighting.

With that in mind, Krupp stood up and began his search for the waistband warrior. The hero couldn't have been too far, he thought, walking along the side of the building toward the front.

However, as he was about to turn the corner, he heard someone crying.

"…Please wake up…"

The words were quiet, but loud enough for him to hear. He couldn't make out the voice though so he decided to listen more.

"…please…"

It sounded like…

"I beg of you…"

It was.

It was Captain Underpants.

Krupp turned the corner and saw him on his knees facing away from him. He looked like he was holding something and it was obvious that he was shaking from crying so much.

Why was he crying though, Krupp wondered. He's begging something to wake up but what could he possibly be—

Then a thought came to mind that made his heart sink to his stomach.

The boys.

George and Harold. They were there, too.

Slowly and steadily, the principal made his way over to the caped crusader, every step increasing his fear of what he might see when he got there.

"If you don't wake up right now, I'll never forgive myself!"

The Captain was sobbing at this point. Well, he was already sobbing, but now it was worse.

As Krupp got closer, he noticed a small tuft of bright yellow hair just barely poking over Cap's shoulder.

"I can't be a hero without my sidekicks…"

Krupp ran the last few steps and once he was in front of the Captain, his heart stopped.

Cap, red-faced and tear-soaked, was cradling George and Harold in each arm. Both boys were beaten and bruised and covered in cuts. Harold had a black eye and a small amount of blood trickled down George's face from a wound above his left eye. Both their hair was a mess and they didn't seem to be moving at all.

As the broken-hearted hero held them closer, the principal felt his own heart begin to shatter. He had no idea what had happened to them, but he felt absolutely terrible. Yes, the boys were very annoying at times, but he never wanted this to happen. They were only kids; they didn't deserve the situation they were in.

And as tears formed in the man's eyes and streamed down his cheeks, three words lingered in his mind: the same three words that Captain Underpants shouted to the ones who couldn't hear him.

"Please, WAKE UP!"
