Sasuke x Sakura. Sakura is 11 and Sasuke is 11.

Sakura Haruno was a boy chaser. She loved chasing after boys, specifically, one boy. His name was Sasuke Uchiha. She took pride in her work, walking with her head held high.

Everyday, she brushed her pink hair, and took strenuous measures to pick out her clothes. Everyday, she tried to look her best, for tbat one boy. He was the most handsome, most popular person in school. And Sakura, like most the other girls, had fallen head over heels in love with him.

Usually, she felt like it was worth it, especially, when she got to spend a couple of minutes with Sasuke. They were what she lived for, and more precious to her than anything else. So, she tackled each day with a bright smile, trying to improve herself, for her love.

But today, today was different. Today, she just didn't feel that it was worth it. Everyday, she tried so hard for a boy that never noticed her.

Her sweat, her tears, all went in to make Sasuke love her, and he didn't care. "What was the point in getting up if what you worked for, what you longed for could never happen?" She thought.

"Sakura Haruno! Get up, and go to school! You're going to be late!" Her mother screeched. Generally, Sakura would see this day as a bright opportunity to see Sasuke, but today it just seemed like a boring, never-ending drone.

Sakura's POV

The Academy loomed ahead of me, a distant shadow. My frown set deeper in my face. This was going to be a troublesome day. Even the sakura flowers were wilting.

My steps slowed, as I trudged on. For me, today was just one of those bad days, where everything seemed gloomy.

It was just another day, filled with another Sasu…

Something moved behind me and…

I turned around, to see…

Nothing.

Nothing at all.

That was weird, I was sure I felt something.

Inner Sakura: Show yourself! NOW!

"If you insist." A unknown person said, appearing before me.

Wait, I said that out loud?

SASUKE?

The dark-haired boy appeared before me.

"S-sasuke what are you doing here?" I asked nervously.

Inner Sakura: Sakura, get a hold of yourself, it's Sasuke! SASUKE! Show him all you've got!

"I'm walking to school, obviously." He said, in a cool, suave manner.

"Oh. So… How's life?" I asked, trembling, trying, but not achieving, a winner smile. Actually, it was more like a forced grin.

"Fine." He said.

Inner Sakura: What's wrong with you? Flirt, girl, FLIRT!

"I know!" I screamed.

"Sakura, are you okay?" Sasuke asked, looking as worried as you can get, while still looking cool.

"Yeah, sorry! I'm just having a bad dayyyy! I said, screaming the last part out as I tripped.

I was falling. I saw the floor right below me, and prepared myself for impact. 5,4,3,2… 1…

Something stopped my fall. I was pulled upright, with Sasuke right behind me.

I whipped around, with a frown on my face, and said, "Thank you, Sasuke."

"No problem, but Sakura?" He said.

"Yeah?" I replied, smiling for real. This was it, the moment where he kissed me, and confessed his love. In the movies, the boy always saved a girl from a peril, and then whisked her away, to live happily ever after, together.

"You have something in your hair." Sasuke said, pulling a twig out.

"Oh." I said, disappointed.

"Sakura, don't frown, you look pretty when you smile." Sasuke said, and disappeared, a trail of leaves in his place.

Sakura. Don't frown… You look pretty… You look pretty… When you smile.

Sasuke's voice echoed in my head.

It wasn't as good as in the movies, but for me, it was the perfect ending, for now.

A.N. Sakura and Sasuke are both OOC, but please review anyway. :) Please?
