Just one word

Just one Word

Molly sighed heavily.

It had been a tough day. Fair to say, if she thought about this, when had she ever not a tough day? There was always something that nagged on her nerves, tried to put her down. She'd always gotten up, though, had never complained and just continued.

But even she could be fed up and wanting nothing but to be given a break, to be left alone.

Of course, that was easier said than done.

„Molly, I need to…"

Those few words were finally enough to let her finally burst with all the anger and the stress that had piled up inside her. It wasn't like her, true, but even Molly needed to let go from time to time and this time it was Sherlock who had to suffer through. She didn't mean to snap at him, but at least he wasn't quite innocent as well, so… at least she didn't exactly bark up the wrong tree.

„You need nothing, Sherlock, so get out!", she snarled. Despite her small, lean figure, she planted herself in front of him, seemingly ready to throw him out. Bewildered, he stepped back from her.

„Even without you here, I've got enough to worry about!"

And without a further word, she shoved him out of her lab, slamming the door shut in his stunned face. Sherlock didn't understand what he'd done wrong – he'd acted the same way as always and she'd never complained before.

The next day, Molly already felt much better. Her outburst had done her wonders, even though she couldn't help but think of Sherlock with remorse. He could be quite a handful to handle, but he didn't deserve her to take out her frustration on him. She owed him an apology, Molly decided, that was the least she could do.

When she opened the lab, she was greeted by a big surprise. On the table laid a bouqet of flowers. Not the quite special, frilly kind of flowers, just a nice, neat bunch of flowers, accompanied by a card.

Were these for her?

The thought made her blush. Who would buy flowers for her anyway? No-one paid attention to her, and no-one was interested in her. So why now?

One quick glance at the card resolved that puzzle and she began to smile. She really hadn't expected something this nice from him!

And she really had to apologize to him as well.

In a sweepy scrawl the card displayed the words: „Apologies for putting you under pressure."

She only knew one person this writing could belong to.

But for breaking in her lab, she would make him apologize again!
