It wasn't him this time. The first thought is hes glad its not him. Then sees who it is and his stomach drops. it's Tim. he's even smaller than Jason had been at his age.(why is he still so small? Didn't the kid ever eat anything but coffee?) joker beating Tim and there's a clock counting down all over again.

Jason jolts awake and the phone is in his hand and dialing before he's even thought about it.

"i was sleeping Jason. sleeping." Tim sounds exhausted and Jason doesn't even know why he's calling. they've only recently gotten on talking terms. this seems stupid. Still he's relieved to hear him on the other end of the phone. He can hang up in a minute. He doesn't even have to say 's enough to know he's should hang up. Tim struggles enough without his crazy older brother waking him up at 4:30 am. But he's tried to kill him before and early morning phone calls followed by silence would just alarm him instead of send him back to bed.

"sorry Tim. go back to sleep" his voice sounds all wrong. and cracks somewhere in the sentence.

there's silence for a moment.

"you had a nightmare." it's not a question. there's a small sigh on the other end. "your not the only one that does this you know."

"this isn't the first time you've gotten a call at ass o'clock?" Jason jokes but it falls flat. His voice still isn't even.

"dick tries to demand i come over immediately and demon brat has broken into my house and crawled into bed more than once. thanks for sticking with calling." Tim never gets enough sleep.

"go back to sleep babybird, i just wanted to make sure you were okay."

"im fine."

"goodnight Tim" Jason would like to say he put down the phone and went back to sleep. but everytime he closed his eyes he saw himself with his vision hazed in green anger. He swings at Tim and Tim,Tim never even moves himself out of the way. Maybe the baby bat has a point in sneaking in to make certain he's fine.

he gets up and starts making a late lunch to bring to Tim instead.
