Knowing you're Gay

Step 1 – Acceptance

Logan was silent as he patrolled the hallways of the Institute that Friday morning. Everyone was at school and his early morning training was over he had nothing better to do but walk around until the kids got home.

Logan paused in his musings when he smelt the familiar scent of pine needles and sulfur along with salt. It was coming from one of the empty quest rooms. Logan walked over noiselessly, wondering why the kid was home. He opened the door.

"Oi, Elf. What are you-?" Logan paused, his gruff expression softening.

Kurt was on the bed in a fetal position, his head buried in his arms, and by his shivering and the salt smell, he was crying.

When Logan had spoken, Kurt jumped, instantly looking up. He tried to wipe his tears away.

"Oh Mr. Logan! I'm sorry, I was just-," Kurt couldn't finish as he choked on a sob.

Silently, Logan closed the door and he walked towards the bed. He sat down near the kid, placing his hand on the teen's shoulder; making the other flinch slightly.

"What's wrong Kurt?" he asked, uncharacteristically soft.

Kurt shook his head. "Nothing," he replied stubbornly, hiding his head again.

Logan frowned, his head unconsciously tilting. "Clearly it's something," he gently argued.

Kurt looked away. "If I told you; you and everyone would hate me," he murmured.

Logan felt his heart drop. "I highly doubt that," he said, gently squeezing his shoulder. "Everyone loves you no matter what. We're family."

Kurt hesitated before looking away. "I think I may be… gay," he finally mumbled. It was so quiet that even Logan barely heard it.

Logan chuckled. "That's it?" he asked, slightly surprised.

Kurt jerked his head up, angry. "That's it?! Didn't you hear what I said?!" he demanded.

Logan chuckled again, not at all offended by the other's tone. Logan lied on his back on the bed, putting his arms behind his head.

"As old as I am, that's old news," Logan explained. "Besides, the world is changing quickly. Imagine how it was thirty years ago in the 70s."

Kurt looked at him shocked. "You mean… You-," he couldn't finish.

Logan nodded, unmoved by the revelation. "Women get boring," he said simply. "Wouldn't be surprised if I started to think both were boring."

"You're so casual about it," Kurt said, slightly incredulous and slightly mesmerized.

Logan shrugged. "I accept me for all I am, not always at first but in the end," Logan looked at the teen. "You should too."

Kurt looked forward and his gaze happened to land on a mirror.

'If Mr. Logan can accept himself, and his image,' he thought. 'Maybe…'

"Kurt?! You home?!"

Logan and Kurt looked to the door.

"Looks like they sent a search party," Logan mused.

Kurt panicked. "I can't tell them!" he said. "I'm not ready! I don't- I can't!"

"Then don't." Kurt paused. "You don't have to tell them now. Hell, you don't have to tell them at all. This is solely your secret; it has nothing to do with them," Logan said.

Kurt thought about it, then nodded; albeit reluctantly.

Kurt smiled. "Thanks Mr. Logan," he said and ported out.

Logan silently breathed in the sulfur scent, his eyes becoming half-lidded.

'One step closer and one question answered.'

End.

Should I do a sequel? I want to but should it be them getting together, (after a good or bad reaction of coming out?) or a moment after they're together?

And Kitty's Jewish right? Do they accept homosexuality? And if not, what's their views on it? I read that they don't, but it referred to the bible, I don't know about Jewish religion but I don't think they use the bible. Sorry -_-U
