R.S: YUS! I feel productive! Another short, I'm still not completely satisfied but, hope you guys enjoy~
Summary: Kyoko had always supported Sho, and encouraged his dreams. No, more than that. She has given him the meaning of his song. Post-Karuizawa arc. OneShot.
---New Day ---
Sho scribbled with his pencil, crossing out and jotting down words, and notes, at a remarkably rapid speed. He noticed nothing about his surroundings: not the TV that was begging to be turned on for the next comedy show, not his beer which he left on the table forgotten, and certainly not his dirty socks that he had left strewn across the floor.
In his mind, images, songs, words, were coming in, just flowing through his head, so fast and so naturally that he didn't even need to reach for his guitar to fiddle with the tunings. The only sound was of his pencil on paper. As he wrote, he thought about his feelings. What he realized, after seeing her in trouble.
I recall us laughing
In the past
Didn't last
Didn't work out to be.
I chased my dream
You followed me
Or so it seemed.
Perhaps you were- A part of that dream.
Wolf howls and cries
And then I realized
Inside my heart I still feel
You, attached to me.
Because of you
Now I know -never knew-
The meaning of my song.
You, my past and my future.
For you I will rise up
To the challenge, here-and-now,
Become strong, take the top,
I can do anything. (No big deal)
Thanks to you, I can find my way
A sense of direction
A pride in what I do-- for you
For you I will live.
Sho stopped, as the final chords, the final beats, faded away in his head into silence. He exhaled in satisfaction. It was finished. Her song.
Just as he was tucking the music sheets away to his usual hiding places, there was a loud knock on the door.
"Sho!" Shouko called out. "Time to wake up! --Have you finished that new song?"
Sho was getting out the other piece of music, one of his old pieces from his folders. He'll need to look it over again later, but that would do for now.
He feigned a loud yawn, as if he had just woke up. "Okay, I'm up, I'm up! 'Be out in a minute!"
The beagles had admitted defeat surprisingly quickly, releasing the song that HE had written and was supposed to sing. But they dropped away, faded into the background, when he came out and released his music. Eventually, in two months, they just faded away. The media went crazy over him, and what happened. (Sho knew exactly what happened to him. And hell if he was ever going to admit it.)
Sho paused, in the middle of brushing his teeth.
But you know... that music. She would never know, but he wrote it for her. As a way of thanking her.
"SHO! We're going to be late for the recording!"
"I'm out, I'm out!" But despite his complaints, he was looking forward to it: his new song; his new album; the new day.
He would think of her, each time he stepped into the recording studio. He would remember that, every time he released a new album, Kyoko is going to look for him. She would see him, under those bright lights. He is going to sing, take the charts, and wait for her there.
