I'm going to combine prompts so that I don't get kicked out of Hogwarts ;)
1. Assignment #2 (prompt: gardening tools — task 3 — write about someone getting caught in the rain)
2. 2018 Yearly Event (prompts: #25 — character — Luna Lovegood)
Luna stood beside her husband, Neville Longbottom, as he tended to the plants in their voluptuous garden. One side was filled to overflowing with beautiful mixtures of colorful flowers, while the other contained odd plants from the couple's trip around the world.
There were also a few hybrid samples of plants from Luna's side and Neville's. Those hadn't turned out so well. Mostly because Luna's plants often had large thorns or the long leaves that snapped people up when they got too close. The result of being combined with Neville's perfect flowers was usually something brightly colored, with a few oddities that plants really shouldn't have, and a weird ability to spit pink powder.
She wouldn't have it any other way, though.
Luna looked fondly around the garden. Neville turned to his wife and smiled at the sight she made in her yellow sundress, weird homemade earrings that resembled turnips, and butterbeer cap necklace.
But what really struck him was the dreamy, far-away look in her eyes.
"Luna," he said softly. He had learned never to speak loudly when she got like this. He still had the scratches on his arms that she had made the first — and only, thankfully — time he'd done that. She apologized after, and told him that it was a side affect from the war and being held prisoner at Malfoy Manor. He had yet to hear what had happened there.
"Hmm?" She turned back to him, the starry look quickly disappearing from her eyes.
"Rain's coming." He pointed up to the sky, where dark grey clouds were rolling nearer. "We should get inside. Looks like a bad storm."
"Oh, that's alright," Luna said cheerfully. "I do love rain."
Shrugging helplessly, Neville retreated inside. There was no arguing when she put her mind to something. He watched, his adoration for his wife growing evermore, as Luna looked around and spun, arms outstretched, her skirt twirling out.
Fat raindrops began to fall as the clouds drew closer. Luna turned her face up to the sky, letting the rain wash over her like she used to do when she was younger, and smiled happily.
Neville's heart burst with love.
