"We... we're getting married."
He could hear Tenten was murmuring something and so he raised his head, turning around. "Did you say something?" Neji placed the piece of cloth back on the table and came closer to her and this time he heard the words clearly.
"We're getting married." She repeated and stayed there as if she would just understand the exact meaning of each one of those words; as if their meaning would just reach her mind with the speed of light until her gaze met his amused, white eyes.
A half smile drawn on his face, his eyes full of pure tenderness towards the astonished woman in front of him. "Yes, we are. I proposed to you a month ago." And saying it made his cheeks flushed at remembering that particular day.
Tenten chuckled and then brought a hand to his face, gently sliding her fingers through his long hair as she smiled at him. "I know, it's just... I'm glad."
They had been trying on the clothes selected for the special ceremony that would take place in the Hyuuga compound. Neji had helped her with doing her hair and they both managed to succeed.
They were together, they could be together now. Finally. Neji was there with her and she didn't need to ask for anything else. She had everything now. She had him with her and that was what only mattered.
He had survived, heroically.
"I'm really glad." She said as her vision became slightly blurry. Some small tears were rolling down her cheeks.
"Hey, don't." He began to dry the tears with his thumb but Tenten shook her head and smiled sweetly, wrapping her arm around his neck. "Don't cry, Tenten. Please." Soothing her, Neji gently took hold of her face and laid a kiss on her nose which made her laugh a little.
"I'm so glad you're here."
"I love you, Tenten."
"I love you too, Neji."

I know it's short but if I made it longer, it would have lost the essence. As you'll notice, the story takes place after the war with Neji being alive. Please feel free to leave a review, I'd like to know what you think. :D
Thank you for reading!
