Anonymous on Tumblr requested a reverse on the crypt scene from season 8 (ep.17 goodbye stranger)with Cas and Dean, so here it is, I have changed the speech slightly to make it fit in as though it were in season 10 but the idea's the same. Demon!Dean.
let me know what you think :) enjoy! xx
'Dean?' Cas frowned, staring at the silent figure. He took a step forwards, then stopped as he studied the black eyed figure.
The demon walked towards him, closing the gap, the first blade clutched tightly in hand. An unnerving smile curled the demons lips.
It chilled Cas to the bone, but he stood his ground.
'Dean listen, you don't have to do this. This isn't you.' Cas said.
'You don't know anything about me, angel.' Dean's fist connected with the side of Castiel's face, sending the angel sprawling across the concrete.
'Fight back.' Dean spat.
Dean watched as Castiel dragged himself back to his feet, with an expression resembling amusement.
'Dean, stop. I won't fight you, I won't hurt you. You don't have to do this.' He said.
Dean struck again, smirking as a trickle of blood ran from the angel's split lip.
'Please, Dean.' Cas choked, 'It's me...'
He was cut off by another strike followed by another and yet another.
Cas pushed himself to his knees, unable to stand, helpless as Dean stepped towards him again.
'Dean stop. Listen to me.'
Dean took no notice of the angel's pleas.
'Dean. I know you don't want to do this.'
'You do, do you?' The demon leered.
'Yes I do. You were always there for me. You never gave up on me, now it's my turn. I'm not going to leave you and I'm not going to fight you. We're family Dean. You said it yourself. Remember that. This isn't who you are.'
'Didn't you get the memo? This is exactly who I am now.' Dean sneered.
Cas shook his head though his ears rang as a result of the action, his words flowing less easily now.
'No it's not. You may look different, but your soul is the same. You are still the same person inside.'
'My soul?' Dean sneered barking a single harsh laugh.
Cas pressed on, not willing to give up.
'It's worn and scarred, but it's essence is still the same, no matter what you are.'
'That's where you're wrong.' Dean said raising the first blade.
'Dean, please.' Cas begged, the angel blade in his pocket, untouched. No matter what, he would not hurt Dean.
'We need you. Sam needs you, I need you.'
'Is that supposed to stop me? Why should I care? Demons don't care. We don't love.'
Dean demanded, though he seemed to falter a little and Cas could swear he saw his eyes flicker; a brief flash of green.
'Neither do Angels.' Cas said, squinting through swollen, blackened eyes. 'but that never stopped me from loving you.'
There was a few moments silence in which the pair looked at each other. Cas waited with abated breath as Dean processed this information.
Finally Dean spoke again.
'Cas?' He asked, his voice quieter now.
Cas smiled weakly. 'Hello Dean'
Dean's eyes flickered and this time green dominated the darkness and the blade dropped from his hand.
'Oh Hell' He said crouching down beside the angel, his fingertips ghosted across Cas's battered cheek.
Cas flinched away despite himself, at the close proximity. Dean met the angel's gaze, a pained expression, wiping away the traces of darkness.
'I'm sorry.' He said, 'I'm so sorry Cas.'
A little note to mention that in the original script for the original scene, Dean was actually supposed to say 'I love you' but Jensen and the writers decided it was too out of character. So I technically didn't change the scene, just made it like it had initially been planned.
Let me know what you thought, love it? hate it? I'd love to know :)
