Yawning I rolled over in my bed, stretching some as I began to wake up slowly. My eyes opened when I heard a clicking sound coming from the window. It was a rock, multiple rocks actually. Standing up I rubbed my eyes and got up. Walking to the window I opened it, onto to get hit in the face with one. I rubbed the point of impact glaring down at the assailant. "Sam! What do you want!" I called down, slightly annoyed that I had been woken up so harshly.
"The time!" He yelled. "Look at the time!"
Rolling my eyes I picked up my phone and looked at the time. "It's only seven forty! Why are you waking me up so early!" I yelled at him, kinda mad that I had been prevented from sleeping in.
"We're gonna be late!" He cried out while waving his arms frantically. "Late?" I mumbled. "Late for what?" I looked around my room to find a clue only to see my backpack and a pre-prepared outfit laying on my dresser. I stared at it for a moment before blinking and after a second, screaming. "School!"
I rushed and threw on my outfit, thankful that I had taken a shower the night before and had set out my outfit. The outfit I had chosen was one of black and white flannel with black shorts and a tank top underneath, as well as black and white ankle covering airwalkers, otherwise known as off brand converse.
Snatching up my bag and my phon I ran down the stairs, not bothering to do anything but wave as I ran past my family. "Bye mom! Bye dad! See you after school!" Running out the door I ran past Sam, grabbing his arm and yanking him along as I continued. "C'mon Sammy! We're late, we're late! For a very important date!" And it was very important. I was going to be late to on my very first day at my new school, Tranquility High.
To say I was late was an understatement. I was late by over twenty minutes and I didn't even have my schedule yet. As soon as we got there Sam bolted off to his classroom before pointing me in the direction of the office and leaving me there looking like an idiot.
After finishing the procedures in the main office I grabbed my things and left, my schedule in my right hand and my map in the left. By the time I found my classroom the period was already halfway over! Taking a deep breath I steeled myself and open the classroom door. All eyes were on me.
After the initial introduction to my teacher I seated myself quickly, placing my bag down and paying attention. After a second I noticed a hand waving in the corner of my vision, slightly confused I looked to my right to see what looked like a blond effboy football player.
"Hey baby, couldn't help but notice you. The name's Trent and might I say you look mighty fine." He flirted, looking my body up and down and finishing it off with a wink.
Rolling my eyes I ignored him, taking notes and paying attention. I wouldn't give this dork the time of day. A hand appeared, snatching my notebook away as I was writing and causing a line to get scrapped into the paper as it disappeared from my desk. Glaring I looked at the source of irritation, which - you guessed correctly - was Trent.
Gritting my teeth I looked him in the eye. "What do you want." I practically growled at him.
He grinned, coming a bit closer. "A date, you and me. What do ya say princess~? I'll show you a real nice place, the back seat of my car." He snickered, looking at his friends that sat behind him, one of them giving him a high five for being 'smooth.'
I rolled my eyes before reaching for my notebook. "No. Now give it back." It's almost in my possession when he moves it further away.
"You sure about that darling? I could-" He's cut off as a hand grabs the notebook and addresses us sharply. "First day and you're already causing trouble are you?"
The teacher begins chewing the two of us out. "And you Trent! I thought you'd learn your lesson by now! Detention after school, both of you!" My jaw drops open on surprise. "B-but I haven't-" the teacher cuts me off with a glare. "Not another peep or I'll make it a week!"
I reluctantly close my mouth, taking the punishment while sending a glare at Trent. I get my notebook back and finish taking notes, minding my own business until the bell rings.
At lunch it's crowded but luckily when I told Sam I was going to his school he told me where they sat for lunch. They being him and his friend, Miles. Despite knowing Sam since we were toddlers I had only met Miles once or twice, part of that I think was due to living on the other side of the city and all of my extracurricular activities. Activities including, but not limited to volleyball, basketball, softball, band, orchestra and choir. What? A girl's gotta stay in shape some how.
I took a moment to look around the courtyard before going over to them and moving behind Sam, suddenly putting a hand on his shoulder to scare him.
"AAH!" He screamed like a little kid, jumping around. I started laughing, bent over. "Your face haha." I laughed, wiping tears from my eyes.
The rest of lunch continued filled with laughter and jokes. It wasn't until lunch was over and we were walking to class that we breached the topic of after school.
"Yea so after I get my car you guys wanna go to the party at the lake?" Sam asked as we walked to our last class of the day. Sighing I shook my head. "Can't. I have detention." I said, kicking a rock.
They looked at me in surprise. "Detention?" Miles asked.
I nodded, slightly annoyed. "Yea. That butt Trent got us in trouble, wouldn't take no for an answer." I shook my head as I opened the door leading inside.
Sam's eyebrows scrunched together as he looked at me confused. "Isn't he dating Mikaela though?" He looked at Miles for confirmation who nodded.
I raised an eyebrow. "He was that willing to cheat on his girlfriend for a one night stand? What a jerk." I stopped in front of my classroom.
"Look, I gotta go now."
Sam nodded. "So about crashing the party...?"
I shook my head. "Nah. I'm gonna go home after detention. Feel free to drop by afterwards though."
With that I waved goodbye and went to my desk.
"Bye Sam."
If I had known what would happen though, I wouldn't have gone home, I would've gone with him after that. It was too late though. What's done is done.
