A/N: Nope. Don't own.
Arthur was furious. How could he do? After all they had been through. All the battles, nefarious plots and general what not, did any of that mean anything to the man? He trusted him with his life and all of his secrets but this was to far.
The enraged prince stopped outside his chamber doors. Calm down Arthur. It wouldn't do to scare off our prey would it?with a deep breath and a blank face the Crowned Prince of Camelot slipped silently into the room. There he is. Acting all innocent. Watching the people. Probably laughing at them all as he plays God over them. Well, no more. With the tensile movements of a man on a hunt Arthur armed himself with a loose sword and stalked his way over to the manservant.
"Merlin" growled the Prince. Merlin turned at the sound of his name and was shocked at the site of his master's sword pointed at him.
"Ar...Arthur? What's the problem? Have I done any thing? Merlin stammered.
This only angered the Prince more. "How can you ask that? I trusted you! Give me one reason why I shouldn't run you through?"
Oh God, thought a terrified Merlin. He knows. Arthur knows about my magic. I was thinking about telling him, especially after this mess with Morgana. But how did he find out?
"I thought you would understand." said Merlin as he stared down the sword that was slowly edging toward him.
"Understand! UNDERSTAND!" screamed Arthur at the cowering manservant.
"I didn't have a choice in the matter." pleaded Merlin.
"Oh, you had a choice." spat the Prince. "I just never thought you would betray me like this."
This is it. I'm going to die. Merlin grimaced. "Arthur, I have never betrayed you. Never."
"Yes, you have."
"Arthur I was born with magic." stated Merlin.
"You told Gwaine about my bunny slippers!" said Arthur at the same time.
Both men looked at each other in silence. The same thought running through their heads. What did he just say?
Arthur was the first to break the tense silence. Very slowly he asked. " You have...magic?"
Equally as slow, Merlin asked the Prince. "Gwaine knows about your slippers?"
Both of them stared at the other one. Arthur dropped his sword and collapsed on his near by bed. "You're a sorcerer, but you didn't tell Gwaine about the slippers?"
"Warlock." Corrected Merlin. "And I may have magic but I'm not evil you know."
Crowned Prince Arthur of Camelot merely groaned and muttered something about torture and Gwaine.
Merlin resumed his post by the window. After a while of gazing the warlock began to chuckle. Raising an eyebrow that would have made Gaius proud, Arthur asked him what was so funny.
Turning to Arthur with his trade mark grin plastered on his face Merlin replied.
"After all this time I would never have guessed that I would be outed by bunny slippers."
