Title: The dream

Summary:

Meh, this is a poem about a dream I had. It felt so real and I just had to write it. Oh and this poem is not supposed to rhyme!

I dreamt about you again

Like the day after yesterday

You sat there reading the newspaper

Never looking my way

Wearing a white business suit and blue tie

Your matching hat lie on the table

I gasped when I saw you

And a family heard me

I mentally kicked myself

Never wanting to expose you

Just to know you

I stood there a second

Wondering what to do

I wanted to talk to you

I pulled myself together

And walked up to you

"I have something to tell you"

I whispered close to your ear

I backed up as you looked at me

You stood up after gracefully closing the newspaper and setting it down

You never said a word

Just put your arm around my shoulders

And led me towards the empty garden

We were alone and deep in the garden when I said

"I know who you are" Then your name

You were not surprised, yet you were

You gave the expression I thought you would

I'm not sure how to describe it

I wondered then, would you kill me?

It was foolish to say your name and talk to you

Curiosity killed the cat

We proceed to walk some more

I asked where you were taking me

You just smiled that mysterious smile

You led me to a private place

True, there were people

But they were far away

We were in the back

A screen in the front

Nobody saw us

You touched my cheek

With the back of your finger

Like a lover would do

I felt a surge of electricity rush through my body

And I thought

"This is better then any dream"

We talked for as long as I can remember

The screen turned on

We watched

It ended and when we were leaving

I realized I had forgotten something

I told you

You looked at me kindly

I offered to leave it there

You, ever the gentleman, offered to retrieve it

We went back for it together

I saw a person I knew

I introduced you; glad he did not recognize you

I had been worried he would

And you would be taken away

I then asked for what I had forgotten

He gave it to me

And we exited

Stepping into the soil

I woke up

I could still feel your touch upon my cheek

True, "This is better than any dream".
