Prologue
I laid in my bed, awake and staring at the darkness in the room. The only light was from the window where the street lamp outside glowed dimly. I got up and moved to the window, looking out over the river on the other side of the street.
A single tear ran down my face, I wished I could get out into the cold, away from it all. Let it clear my head, walk in the dark, breathe in the fresh night air. I didn't want anyone to know that I was out there. I knew the perfect place to go.
I opened my window and climbed out into the cold and crisp night air, the moon shining down on me.
